Horrible Hype thread.

For a user that's been around for only 4 days, are you sure you know what a good or bad hype thread is? Or have you been around a little longer with a different account? Take your pick.

After watching the 1 hour preview (I hate myself)

I have to say I was so impressed, I'd be more surprised if this game scored below a 87 on metacrtic than if the Xbox One actually got a good game:

Jokes Aside,

-The story seems absolutely solid, Deslin doesn't seem to be that douchbag character his design gives vibes of, (although you can choose your actions and pay penance accordingly)

-I was impressed from the seamless transitions of gameplay to cutscenes, the graphics are that freaking good that pre rendered cgi need not even be used (probably using that term wrong)

- Game play was remincisent of Arkham style games, the smooth rather seamless transitions from different enemies, to attacks, to long range powers, and to Close quarters combat was impressive. It defiantly seems to be dependent on the skill of said player however, as a lot of times I saw Deslin transition to unwanted places repeatedly with his 'smoke' powers

All in all hype, AAA this game seems solid.

The game looks tremendous - definitely a really good reason to pick up a PS4.

ordered yesterday. That amazon shipping facility in Phoenix really pays off, choose free shipping and usually get the order in two days or so.

It has all the prerequisites to not score AAA for a next-gen title.

It has day/night cycles

It has weather effects

It's 1080p

Lots of stuff is destructible in the environment

The bystanders aren't copypasta from a PS2 game

In short, it's nothing like any game scoring AAA right now, so betting 8 seems realistic.

I would take you up on that bet, but I don't want to lose.

8 locked infamous threads on first page, many praising the graphics, all the hype and gifs people had since E3 and official hype is AA? What a joke.

I did get a bit of a chuckle out of that too lol. Cows are usually the least conservative group when it comes to hyping things. Whether it be based on an hour of gameplay from an extensively covered game (infamous), or even a 30 second promo announcement of a new game showing literally nothing but the title (The Order, as well as literally every Sony exclusive ever), so its quite interesting to see them playing it safe ITT. We all know every single one of them inside expects AAA.

That being said, I am looking forward to the game. After playing nothing but CoD, and 360 up-ports on my PS4, I'm looking forward to getting something that reminds me that this is a "next gen" console.

Who knows what a single gamespot reviewer will give this game, I don't know or care. Their opinion differs so much from game to game with no set pattern of standards or evaluation to determine how they came to their conclusion, this place is just awesome for the forums.

Metacritic will tell the tale of what level of quality the game is at with collective critical opinion and evaluation. I think AA is about right for Infamous Second Son's critical hype for the collective professional opinion.

Despite all of the mass media AAA hype Titanfall received with promotion dollars from MS, it only managed an AA critical reception once it was put under criticism from a broad reviewing committee. With that said even IGN was closer to the real quality of score of that games than GS. GS scores are only good for shit's and giggles with SW bets and ownage, it's one persons opinion after all. MC paints a much better picture of a games actual quality and how it stands up to broad criticism.

anyway, did anyone else know Infamous is rated T for Teen O_o ? i'm just realizing this was a kids game after watching this video....it's kind of surprising to me. i wonder when the ps4 is going to get a mature exclusive to boast. because this game seems to play it safe in every single aspect too. even the interviewer was kind of poking fun at it in the video, comparing it to GTA5. i've never seen a game dev so flustered in an interview before...ever LOL. it seemed like he was making up his answer as things went along anyway...this game man, idk man. every single interviewer/previewer of it seemed completely unimpressed by what they saw and played.

Yep, AA at Metacritic is all I think this game will get but I will still play and enjoy it until Naughty Gods unleash their GOAT and eradicate what diseased rodent lems are still left on the planet.
