Helldivers 2 launch is a disaster

Aside from the very intrusive kernel-level anticheat(Which is not needed cos this isn't PVP), the servers have been a bust at launch.

The game also has visual and performance issues on PS5.

I am just finishing up the final test of basic training on my PS5. While it's not very pretty and controls are a bit wonky, so far it seems fine. I will start matchmaking once I finish the test though.

I've heard of the issues and even seen some of them.

But personally I got into the game without much trouble and have been playing and enjoying this one with friends for most of the day.

Cows will avoid this like the plague, another flop like silent hill 3-10

Looked like a cheap $19.99 game from Steam. So not only is it overpriced af, but its also broken? This generation is so tight.

Did my tutorial and first mission on PC with no issues but let’s see later when I try to join others.

Matchmaking didn’t work for me this morning. It wouldn’t even connect to the server from what I could tell. I tried a mission solo and it didn’t go very well lol

I have been reading that they have fixed some of those issues and people are connecting now.

Thats how it works. Steam doesn’t have the cert restrictions that consoles have. PalWorld showcased this very issue as well.

Yeah, that makes the mission more intense for sure. I also like that this game has nailed the Starship Troopers vibe so perfectly. The Starship Troopers game has a lot working against it coming out after this game.

I don't get the "looks like crap on PS5". It looks just as good if not better than the 1st one from the videos.

When I saw it shoot above Palworld on the charts, I knew that matchmaking to would be a catastrophe. They better figure it out quickly. As with Palworld, these devs are never ready for the influx of players on their servers at first

Hope they get it all patched up! I would play with other PS5/PC players!

I've been watching it on Twitch and, it looks pretty good; I may end up buying it.

It's doing pretty well ...

Steam reviews are bit low but, most of the negatives are technical issues (server, bugs etc.) that can be addressed.

Weekend sounds fine.

I'm hooking up with a friend tomorrow and we're gonna watch Starship troopers, which coincidentally sounds like just the movie to watch!

There is a lot of shooting, but it feels tactical.

You can crouch, dive, jump, sprint. I saw my friend jump around and fire like Max Payne, it was awesome.

There are a ton of unlocks, from napalm strikes to resupplies. Anyone could specialise in all kinds of guns.

I played for 4 hours but it feels like I've barely scratched the surface.

This is what needs to happen to management making decisions to launch broken and unfinished games...

That shit is unacceptable.

Just played a game after a pretty large update and it's pretty damn good. The combat is pretty good and teamwork feels like it means something and not just tacked on.

As usual buying at launch is a losing endeavor. I really want to support Arrowhead because I'm an og magika and helldivers 1 nerd, but that said I'll wait for the game to be finished before diving in.

I'm also understanding that this is a game steam deck will likely run well... Has anyone tried?

Yeah I am disappointed. Game is in rough shape. Like...worse than WH40K: Darktide, if you can believe it.

Not a fan of the kernel-level anti-cheat that installed--without permission, I might add--onto my PC. Apparently its not actually for anti-cheat purposes, it's to prevent people from gaining items from the store so has nothing to do with gameplay.

It's also kind of an ugly, rough looking game. I expect better given the first game's impact and quality but this is just kind of bargain-bin level quality right now and not in a fun way, either.

Also hard to join matches, lose connection regularly.

Yeah, just...not great.

If people were hyped to this and are looking for alterntaives, I recommend:

didn't have problems with premade group yesterday but apparently matchmaking was busted, didn't chash or stutter. There is some funny shit olike you dive in to shallow water and your guy just yoinks up tposing. Fun game

I guess this game has to cook a bit longer.

Ah shit, I believe you.. you been hype for helldivers2.. I was hype for dark tide and was severely dissapointed with that games launch state.. was bad.. your saying it's worst than dark tides launch is big red flag..
