AC Unity maybe 720p on PS4

I just thought it was funny you made a thread about PC gamers being envious while ps4 is still fighting for 1080p+60fps and barely getting games :)

Anyone who thinks MULTIPLATS will be 1080p on any console are mad. Only Exclusives will reach 1080p and 60fps on each console.

Well for starters if I was envious of graphics I would just get a PC and play Crytek games, 2nd the link is obviously misleading and wrong as people have pointed out, 3rd out of the 5 games I'm excited for that's coming out in the next 6 months only one of them for sure is coming to PC and 3 of them are definitely not.

If Xbone can run Witcher 3 at 900p (ps4 apparently 1080p) then PS4 can rape AC Unity at 1080p. This is nothing more than a place holder by the admin which means utterly nothing at this stage.

Take this with a HUGE grain of salt...I heard rumors the X1 version was running better than the PS4 version. At this point.

Shame . Either they'll have to run it at sub HD or once again all platforms will see downgrade . And this is just start of the generation .

Hopefully AT LEAST in 2022 (next gen) , consoles will finally be able to play all games in 1080p .

Watch_Dogs was 900p on med / highish PC settings. There are a SHIT-LOAD of NPCS on the screen in AC: Unity.

it's already a miracle they can 1080p do sometimes now, even on the ps4. I mean an 8 year old pc could match the ps4. I'll give them another year, and the new goal will be 900p. In 5 years 720p won't even be achieved anymore and we'll get the same pixelated lagfests we've seen on the x360 and ps3 the last 3 years.

IF only nintendo could rise from the ashes and bring out a system that is truly next gen, It might happen , they have enough money and i doubt they will make the wii u mistake again.

@evildead6789: Cost to dollar they are a great value. With great games coming out. There is a point you have to be a realist though.

We're in the day and age where a top of the line GPU alone costs 500-1000 dollars, and these guys think their 400 dollar consoles should be pumping 300 NPCs on the screen at 1080p 60 fps... with no load times.

it's sad because since the x360 and ps3 were released they created such a big market for themselves that they've drawn in all big devs. Pc versions are still beter but it's nothing like the era 1996-2006 anymore.

Like I said my biggest hope is nintendo, the steam machines were promising as well but that has gone nowhere.

True or not, it will eventually happen The hardware simply isn't capable. You may get 1080p but textures will be piss poor.

Everybody know xbone is the 720p system, PS4 - 1080p.

Mark my words, ACU wont be 720p on either consoles period. The backlash would be why too epic even for giant like ubisoft, they have already mentioned pushing for 1080p/60fps earlier so that tells me they have very good headroom for 1080p/30fps at the very least. The news is so god damn disgusting it doesn't make any logical sense at all.

Why not just shoot for that cinematic 1080p/24fps "filmic" look while they're at it.

720 vs. 1080 will make a huge difference and I doubt the game will be any good if it's running in the former. This really matters.

Resolution wars again. I'd rather have better textures than higher resolution the only thing higher res does is make the image look sharper. I'd rather have more detailed textures because textures is really what determines if a game looks good or not. It's not 1080p that makes PC games look better it's the fact that they hit 1080p and still have more detailed textures.

The gameplay part is actual gameplay though. Honestly, B4X does have a point.

AC Unity was stated to be runing on a pc with similar specs to the xbox. By Ubisoft, so take it witha grain of salt. While we don't know the res, DF's video analyzes showed crazy frame rates, going anywhere between 20 to 40.

So, 900p (don't see 720p) on the PS4 may not be far off, considering the size of the map, the level of npcs on screen and that 1/4 of the builds can be access seamlessly.

Now, will not having a last gen version help Ubi with optimization, or will focusing solely on it make it harder?

If so, it will be a big disappointment and one less game to get. Anything under 1080p30 this gen is unnacceptable!

@deadline-zero0: Well, considering this is Ubisoft we're talking about I'd be very careful. If the PS4 is 900p then I firmly believe this will be the standard for all next gen high fidelity multiplats. As someone said above me, only exclusives will be 1080p.

If i'm not mistaken, Unity is the first proper AAA budget game with no last gen versions. If the PS4 can't hit 1080p, and considering it has't been confirmed TW3 is 1080p either, it might mean problems for the next 2-3 years as devs are stilling getting used to teh hardware. Even with a x86 archytecture.

Its X86, it shouldn't take *that* to get used to it. That being said, I drive trucks so I may be talking out my arse.

I know. But while i don't expect the kind of jump the PS360 had, with the passage of time, devs will learn more and be able to extract more juice out of the consoles.

Also, i just remembered. EA Sports UFC is PS4 and XB1 only and, if i'm not mistaken again, runs at 900p on both. Obviously, one has to take that with a huge grain of salt, because it makes very little sense considering the extremely inclosed nature of the game's fight ring.

But, if could potentially be a sign of things. Let's hope not.

I'll get it on pc but if the ps4 version really is 720p at release, I sure hope it runs at stable 60 fps. There are may who actually prefer 60 fps over higher resolution.
