If that starts to happen it is because MS is demanding console parity and paying to have it happen. They are probably telling MS that their machine is too under powered to achieve 1080p and MS is saying if you make the PS4 match our crap box we will pay you.

The basis of the story is the AC4 product page on Sony's PS webstore. Advertising 1080p has become a sticking-point for consumers and - in light of recent objections - Sony is likely just staying mum until Ubi gives them the all clear.

If true, though, the question why is even more intriguing. Hardware limitation or obligatory platform parity? Uncertain whether or not I should protest by not purchasing a game intentionally gimped or limited by a developer/publisher.

This is the inevitable response for any PS4+resolution thread on SW. It must be hell having to work on MS' Xbone PR team.

targeting 1080p and 60fps?

it's not even feasible to think a developer would go from 1080 to 720 in resolution if their target was 60fps. Something doesn't sound right about that. At minimal they would drop to 900p and still hit 60frames not more than double the resolution.

Either a typo or they are doing some under the table leveling to make the games on consoles play equally, if so I wouldn't even consider buying.

sup-par products don't deserve my money and would be a waste so nothing will be lost. I don't play games because I feel I am obligated to play them, I play them when and if they can provide the experience and enjoyment of something that has worth to me.

I went most of last gen not playing games that a lot of people cling to like COD and madden because I didn't see value in it as a game experience and regret nothing.

It won't be, i'd put money on it just being a placeholder/mistake as it was with Watchdogs. At least this time they had the sense to take a punt on 720p rather than 1080p to avoid to stupid rabble that forms if it's wrong.

That would be pretty horrible if true, but I doubt this game will run at that resolution.

Ubisoft made some of the best ports ever... Far Cry 3, Watch Dogs, and most of the AC series...

Then of course there's Uplay. **** that.

Ok maybe not true 1080p, but closer to it than 720p.

If you have a problem get a PC and get over it PS4 isn't as powerful as you all think. Xbox has started doing 1080p nothing really to boast about.

@parkurtommo: Watch_Dogs wasn't a good port. AC had problems where the controls for the keyboard were horrid. Can't say much about farcry.
