Last few I played were Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland(GBA), Kirby: The Crystal Shards(N64), and Kung Fu(NES).

@Renegade_Fury The Sonic Adventure games are fun, depends on willing people are to put up with the games flaws if it will be enjoyable for them or not. As cheesy as the song is, I like City Escape and it will be going through my head after I hear it.

I remember playing Kirby: Crystal Shards a lot when it came out. The fireworks combo was always my favorite, because it pretty much destroyed everything with ease.

Yeah, after playing Adventure 2 again, I'm finding all of its flaws to be really blown out of proportion. Even the Knuckles and Rouge levels can be beaten within a minute or two if you use your head. Of course I'd much rather play the Sonic and Shadow levels, but the other gameplay types aren't absolute garbage, which seems to be the rhetoric today. I'm also playing Sonic Lost World for the second time since it was just released on the PC, and now that's what I'd call a frustrating game with poor level design. Adventure 2 is so much better that it isn't even funny. Whatever the 25th anniversary game is, I hope it's nothing like Lost World.

Oh, and I think everyone gets City Escape stuck in their head. I mean how can you not? lol.

KMQuake 2 (allowed widescreen resolutions) mod for my original Quake 2. Also just started System Shock 2 (GoG), and Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption (GoG). All three games are on my old Toshiba NB305-N600. They make that old netbook look good. ;-)

The 3DS Mega Man Legacy Collection is finally out (at least physically anyway), so it's time for me to go back to the beginning. It has me wanting the ZX games as well as a handheld collection for the X series. Meanwhile in the old but not too retro yet I've been revisiting BioShock on PC.

I started playing FFVI, (the ugly PC version). IDK if I'll stick to it, because I have Twilight Princess HD coming in the mail today, but I plan to eventually beat it, and hopefully see why everyone loves it so much.

I'm playing through Ocarina and Majora mostly, but I tend to play a lot of games at once. I do play a lot of older games too, so I guess right now the list is Jet Grind Radio, if that counts, (I think Dreamcast is probably the last "old school" console.) and I've casually been playing Super Street Fighter 2, Spike McFang, Mario vs DK, Strider, the TMNT games, the 2D Metroids, and Super Mario World too. Those are just the ones I've played in the last couple of weeks. I might have ADD, I'm not sure, but I like playing a lot of games at once. I've played a lot of games so it's easy to forget details and relive them.

I started playing the Star Wars SNES games ((wife got me the last two for v-day, had the original since I was a kid). Holy hell are they hard, I think I can beat Super Star Wars with some practice, but Super Empire Strikes Back I can't get past the second level!!!

@adamosmaki:

Yes sp FPS games were a lot more fun in the mid-90's, Doom 2 on the PC still my favorite game all-time.

Phantasy Star IV is currently getting all my retro game time. A criminally underrated gem and it has aged wonderfully. My first playthough of any game from the series as well and I'm really loving it. It's also beautiful to look at as the art is some of the best from the 16-bit era, in my opinion. While there is no run button, your characters move very swiftly. Totally recommend it to anyone looking for one of the best RPGs of yesteryear.

It really is a fantastic game, one of the very best 16 bit console RPG´s. Damn shame sega never made PSV and instead chose to focus on the online spin off series.

I started playing the 3DS versions of OoT and MM, but I've been mainly playing NiGHTS into Dreams this week, especially today in particular since it's Reala Day, which is such an awesome easter egg. Every time I do a playthrough of this game, I always come away thinking what a freakin' masterpiece it is.

I'm currently playing Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation (PC version, with widescreen mod). I bought all the Tomb Raider game (minus RoTR) for £10 or so on a Steam sale and have been working through them. Until recently I'd actually never completed any of the old Tomb Raiders. I just found them too hard and couldn't figure out how people knew where to go (now that I'm older I know that figuring that out is half the game).

I started with Tomb Raider II because it was the Tomb Raider game my childhood Windows 98 PC shipped with. I'd never gotten past the third level without a guide or cheats so clearing the entire game was an amazing way to revisit the series. From where I completed the original -- which was actually very easy because it's better designed than TRII (as well as the familiarity I had with the game from its remake, Anniversary).

After that I moved onto TRIII which, despite improvements in controls and graphics, was a real slog of unintuitive (and often vindictive and malicious) game design. It took me over 30 hours to beat it, half of which was retrying/being lost. I was very glad to see the back of that game.

Now I'm playing Tomb Raider IV which feels like the true sequel the original Tomb Raider. It's filled with well designed, varied sequences (even a few set pieces) and the levels connect to each other creating the illusion of expansive terrain. The difficulty is also considerably fairer than TRIII. In addition, the presentation has also seen a really big boost with engaging cutscenes (which are even scored like a movie) and a narrative that makes Lara's motivations easier to follow.

Honestly, I'm surprised people don't talk more about The Last Revelation as it seems to be a high point for the series (still not played Chronicles though).

Elemental Master and Gun Nac, first shmups of the year for me didn't realize it's been so long since I played one. I liked both, but Gun Nac was really good. I have yet to play a Compile shooter I don't like and think this is their best on NES.

It was solid but not spectacular. (I'd give it a 7.5-8/10) I hear the sequel is definitely the better of two so since I liked the first quite a bit I'm looking forward to it.

Cool, I see. Maybe I'll give it a try myself then, but yeah, the second game is really good, and is definitely one of the best looking and sounding games on the Mega Drive. The only thing that sucks is that it's very expensive, so I went with a translated reproduction cartridge.
