Why is naruto still going?

Long running shounen manga adaptations all generally suffer from quality issues, dragged out episodes, and various low quality filler arcs.

The manga seems to be ending soon though, so the anime will follow suit soon (unless they pad it out with more fillers).

The fights are entertaining, but dammit, there's so much filler in the anime. Anyways, to answer your question, it's because alot of people like the anime. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be popular.Oil_rope_bombs

I watch it and absolutely love it. Yes the fillers are annoying but most anime's I watch will have fillers, there's pretty much a necessity for an art team. The fights are amazing and the main story line I find awesome. Ninja's and magic and stuff, what's not to like and the greatest thing about liking it is that it's based on opinion

its the worst anime/manga ever, extremely overrated, with an overly cliche plot filled with uninteresting characters and a lot of filler content (even worse than DBZ) and a very bad art style for an anime.

why is this still so extremely popular? I remember naruto was raging even in 2006, now in 2012, to see it so strong (and still with no ending...) is actually very...peculiar.

It's most certainly NOT the worst ever(as fellow posters have said, it's flaws are NOTHING to the abomination that is Bleach or Fairy Tail), but it hasn't been good for a while now(imo).

the hole War thing has been stretched so much....

and the jutsus have become automatic Deus Ex machinas.

i still read it pretty much because of Hinata alone, wanna see what happens with her(it's ok, my friends are more than F***ing thrilled to tell me what's going in EVERY chapter), but if not for her i would've stopped a long time ago(probably after the Pein arc, which was pretty awesome).

@Hexagon, now that I think about it, Naruto does have a lot of similarities to Hunter x Hunter. The way battles are thought out, the exams, the different grades and types of ninjas/hunters. There are other similarities, but those stick out the most.

Because even if an anime starts very promising but ends up being bad, you want to stick around for the end. Bleach is probably the worst offender of this, it should have ended with Hueco Mundo or at least the Aizen ark should have been rewritten. Naruto has gotten stale, suffering from the Bleach effect of powerup, after powerup...but people still stick to it.

One Piece however, is getting better and better. Tragalgar Law kills [spoiler] 4 of the strawhats [/spoiler] . **** got real.

Shonen jump suffereing a lot. I remember eagerly waiting for each magazine every month, now it's only digital. I don't watch anime, too slow and too much filler. Naruto got stale fast. Bleach was THE BEST for a short while until after about volume 20. 20-30-whatever are boring as hell and the story never progresses One peice is still good, but they released like 25 volumes at once and I lost track a few years ago. Going to re read all of them one day. With tokypop out, could shonen jump follow? Manga seems to be on a horrible decline recently.

I tried watching Naruto, but never got into it. I don't even watch OP, because I keep up with the manga.
