Texas public schools required to teach Bible this year

The act is still punishable by a fate worse than death. In the grand scheme of things, what happens to you on Earth is of very little consequence. Eternity is much longer. Homosexuals are still not faced with an incredibly harsh punishment for fulfilling their biological urges. And they are still shunned by Christians here on Earth, even if not murdered. Things are not different in any meaningful way.

The rightful punishment is still death (which we all deserve). The problem is many Christian simply do not grasp this and thus become legalistic and condemning as opposed to preaching the love of Christ.mindstorm

Agreed on the second sentence. The first, not so much, as children who do not obey their parents do not deserve death. I didn't ask for this existence, and if I knew getting into it involved the possibility of eternal torture for not worshipping and obeying a mighty being that feels it is just to torture souls eternally for disobedience, I would have declined.

It is, but the difference is that someone has taken the place for that sin. And whether biological or not, when I lust after a woman, I feel the guilt in my heart. I do think all guys feel this guilt, regardless of if they deny it. And I do agree many of my fellow Christians can be douches to homosexuals, but I try my hardest to not be. :)battlefront23

I live in Texas and am Christian, but I would not want the Bible being taught in my school. There are many different religious beliefs in school, and I don't think the Bible should be taught to all students. A class would be fine to me, since it'd be optional, but not this.

ok i take that back, but seriously, all that traditionalist religious crap is holding us back. why the hell study the bible when you can go to church in sunday school and learn it? Waste of time for kids if you ask me, especially with educational funding cutbacks across the board in this economy, we dont need our schools to provide what we can already get aplenty. My god do i hate the south...

Biblically, lust is just as bad as any other sin. But desensitization never surprises me. It's not just that repeated exposure makes you feel something is normal - it's also very difficult to live your entire life feeling badly about so much of what you do. People get fed up with that constant state of remorse, and desensitization becomes a defense mechanism against it.
