I've enjoyed all 3 Term flicks so far. So I'm sure I'm going to enjoy Salvation.
And yes, I liked T3. Sure it was nothing more than a cash-in, but it was good popcorn flick.

also for the people complaing about pg13 rating, by todays standards T2 is a pg13 movie there was nothing R worthy in their
T1 is stretching it, but take out the nudity and its pretty much pg13

Exactly what I said earlier in this thread. Terminator, without the nudity, would get slapped with a PG-13 rating, easily.
[QUOTE="Pirate700"]What does it matter? Terminator and Terminator 2 would be rated PG-13 by today's standards..I still can't believe it's rated pg13. What a total cop-out. :x

You have no idea how the rating system works do you?
Terminator ended with T2. Anything since or to be made in the future will be or is crap.mattykovaxThough I have to admit, I did enjoy the TV show

Yes, I do. Try watching the film "This Film is Not Yet Rated". The first Terminator would be rated PG-13. Aside from the language in the second one, it would be rated PG-13.T3 wasn't bad - it was just boring.
The interesting stuff didn't happen till the end of the movie and by then we all knew where it was going anyway.
Everything else was just the usual "run away from the high-tech terminator with assistance from the low-tech Governator", and throw in a couple dumb one-liners for giggles.
Clair Danes is easy on the eyes though :)

she was the chick who played catherine bruster right? i agree
i also agree that T3 wasnt as bad as people make it out to be, i thought it was ok

Aside from the language in the second one, it would be rated PG-13.I have never seen that movie, so maybe I am at a disadvantage, but going of my own knowledge of the system, I would say a PG-13 movie can only have at most, two f-bombs, and only very brief female nudity. So thats why I don't think Terminator would make the PG-13, but maybe you actually know something I don't about it.

, I don't think Terminator 1 or 2 would make Pg-13 either, myself. Of course, if you try to disregard all the content by saying "without the nudity and cursing, it could have been pg-13", any film could have been Pg-13. :|[QUOTE="TheGrayEye"][QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"] Yes, I do. Like saying Saving Private Ryan would have been rated PG- if it wasnt for the blood and language!
T1 is one of my favorite movies.
T2 was great.
T3 was a pretty good sequel in my mind.
T4 looks meh.
I guees Im just tired of Bale, Pg13, mcg, too much daylight scenes in that war. Oh well...
If you thought T3 was pretty good, you should have no problem with Terminator Salvation lmao btw I enjoyed T3 too.T1 is one of my favorite movies.

Some fans are really going over the top with their hate towards T3.
Even cameron liked it.

I liked it as a movie in its own right, but when you compare it to the first two, it's very bad. So I'm guessing a lot of these fans going over the top are people who expected it to be nothing less than the first two.Its okay, I like the taste of milk (see what I did there?).xTheExploited
exploited, your avatar looks familiar but i can't figure out what its from?
It has a 36% from critics now and a 66% from the RT community.
"Consensus: With storytelling as robotic as the film's iconic villains, Terminator Salvation offers plenty of great effects but lacks the heart of the original films."
I'm down with that. It's not like T3 had the heart of the originals, but I loved it anyway.
Along with others here and James Cameron himself who admitted a few years ago, the Terminator series SHOULD HAVE ENDED with T2 Judgement Day.
Over and done with. Imo.
T3 wasn't that bad, although it was very lazy in the SFX/CGI department. T3's story was a bit smart (the writers) for covering the back story of the characters, like how John and Kate Brewster got hooked up the day before John met the T800. However, a 3rd sequel was simply unneccessary.
As for this one, I'm not exactly excited, since it got a PG13 rating, which is blasphemy for the entire R-rated franchise. Same can be said about Die Hard series.

/thread. I knew this movie wasn't going to be good when I saw it was rated PG13.
Pretty much every review out there says that this movie is darker and more bleak than Terminator 2. I've seen it, and the PG-13 rating doesn't hurt the movie at all.hmm... I hope it's better than that ####y movie Xmen Origins. ill wait for Roger Ebert(my favorite critic who I almost always agree with) to review the movie. the movie seemed it was going to be perfect... wtf happened? the story bits from the trailer made me want to get involved and the action seems plentiful. the acting seemed pretty powerful in some little bits in the trailer too with Christian Bale screaming "WE'RE ALL DEAD" and with that half-robot-half-human guy questioning himself. I know my thoughts on the trailer were based on the trailer, and I don't usually do that. However, it really seemed like they did an awesome job with the movie. I hope those reviewers were just really stupid :(lolwotrickrollEbert gave it a negative review.. Pretty much kept the same complaints that he had from Star Trek with this movie.. Poor story, poor plot devices.. The entire movie depended on the performance of their main actors to keep it afloat.. To me Star Trek and Terminator remind me of Transformers the movie.. Lots of explosions, alittle humor spliced in with a pretty weak shallow story or overall meaning.
im still going to see it and think for myself

The original Terminator had more than enough reason to be rated R. From the Motion Picture Association of America website:
http://www.mpaa.org/FlmRat_Ratings.asp
An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures.
Sexual contenttaken out of the picture, that's still more than enough justification for an R rating. If ripping out a person's heart, murdering an entire police force, and beating a guy to a pulp before pumping his GF full of lead doesn't require an R rating, then I don't know what does. I don't think today's standards for what is now acceptable would affect the rating at all.
