This is the third day of trouble, and it's apparently getting nastier. Massive police presence, cars/buildings/businesses on fire.

Didn't realize London police carried guns. Why was the man shot in the first place?
Is that a poor, working class section of London?

I live in Canada. And I haven't been reading the news lately, so this is new to me.
The guy who was shot was arrested in an anti-gun crime operation... TBH it dosn't seem like they have any good reason to riot, they're just rioting because they canDidn't realize London police carried guns. Why was the man shot in the first place?

Though any other time and I would agree with that statement.

News reporting it's spread to another city now, so it does seem opportunistic. Very worrying and very glad I'm not in those areas because from the pictures on the ground and in the sky from news copters...it looks like an absolute warzone.[QUOTE="markop2003"] The guy who was shot was arrested in an anti-gun crime operation... People hate return fire.Basically a guy fired at some armed police, so the police shot back, now those idiots are pissed.

The bloke who was shot was a drug dealer, linked with a string of feared gangs. this link should help. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2023543/Mark-Duggan-using-gun-shot-dead-police.html
200 rioting "Youths", of course nothing good will come of this. The riotors are saying the police executed the guy shooting him in the head or something.
So the only logical solution is burning random buisnesses and cars people had had nothing to do with the crime own.

This whole thing seems ridiculous, from the little I've read about it. But then again, if you youtube "chavs" I guess it's understandable, these kind of persons are probably the one rioting.
What's up with Europeans and rioting? The U.S. has a comparable population to Western Europe with a fraction of the riots.KC_HokieDidn't ya know? We only riot when sports teams win or lose!

We only riot when sports teams win or lose! That happens every few years. Europeans riot after every soccer game. Then have these 'societal' riots or whatever they are.
lol baseball had its times back then... stuff like 10 cent beer night and disco demolition night were terrible... also 10 cent beer night was one of the dumbest ideas i have ever heard someone come up withas a football fan i find that kind of insulting. Football matches happen every weekend, so where are all these riots you speak of? The 70's and 80's would like their stereotypes back.
