I'm sick of this "Nanny State" mentality. The state is wasting it's time (and probably money) by banning this, let people choose to buy what they want. Even if it's not healthy.

Shadow do you still hold the ideal that you would force your beliefs about gay marriage on others? Or have you altered/evolved that position?

Also, no one person drinks a 2 liter bottle of soda. What if you are having a party and you want to get some pizza and 2 liter soda for everyone to share?

Dude, I can drink two 2 liters by myself. I could go through both of them in a day easily.

When NY jacked the taxes up on cigarettes, people would jump the border to VT to get them cheaper. The same principle applies here: Take the train out of the city, buy a case or 3 of your favorite soda for the non-NYC price (that is, without the super-sized sales tax on top of the state's cut), and take the train back to the city. Problem solved.

It's like he doesn't realize that there are retailers outside of the city willing to sell the larger sizes. Unless he posts border guards to Manhattan, he has zero chance of stopping people from drinking as much soda as they can hold.

OrkHammer007

On this note, if you are so desperate to get your fix that you're leaving the state, then it's very clear you are exactly the kind of person who needs to quit immediately.

Back in my day 2 liters were $0.88 I'd walk a quarter mile to the corner store and buy 1 or 2 and I'd make 2 trips a day... sucked that the market 2 miles away had them for $0.60 but thats too long a walk in the summer heat... Now I only drink sparkling flavored water for my soda fix and fruit for my sugar fix...

I have cut down on pop quite a bit, but I used to drink nothing but pop and milk and yet I know I didn't even down a 2-liter a day....

I honestly cannot fathom drinking 3-4 2 liters in a single day. At my worst I may have come close to downing ONE 2-liter in a day.

because youre health is not your health with social health care, other people own you. this was done to "curb rising healthcare costs" though those costs are rising because of legislative reason... in short it is all a power game with the politicians and their idiot ideologue followers against everyone else.

You're not "desperate" if you're merely stocking up in a place where the price is friendlier to your wallet. You're "desperate" if you pay $15/pack for smokes at the local corner store or gas station (or $8 for a 12 pack of Mountain Dew... didn't click to see how much it is in NYC, but I'm just doubling the price you find 2 hours north of there).

You're too stupid to make important or even unimportant life decisions so the government thinks it knows better than you.

Basically that's it.

My position on same sex marriage has not changed. It has nothing to do with forcing my beliefs, simply standing by the values that I hold firm. Why would internet trolls on GS change my mind?

And yes I'm aware that my preferred politician John Huntsman endorses it now. That's his business to do what he feels is important and I still endorse him, I do however disagree with his position on it.

I'm not a homophob in the slightest, I wish left-wingers would stop demonizing people because they have a different opinion than they do. I don't call pro-choice people baby killers.

I wouldn't pay the trolls no nevermind, but a lot of nontrolls weighed in. So not an issue of listening to trolls or not, but being open to other arguments. So dismissing OT as Internet trolls is not for the best. I think the main issue that people have is that you said that you were willing to vote in a way that would keep marriage between a man and a woman. That would be imposing your beliefs on others. Another option is to abstain from voting on the issue. That way you are not supporting it, but at the same time you are not letting your views dictate what marriage is. I wish the far left would stop foaming at the mouth. Also wish that you evaluate who you are as a person.
