I normally tip $3 for my $17 order (tax included). The amount before taxes was like $13 to $14. However, I didn't realize it but I only have two 1 dollar bills at the moment. So I'm gonna tip the guy $2 tonight. Is that ok to tip? $2 for my $13-14 dollar order before tax?

Having grown up working in restaurants, I tend to tip very generously. But 2-3$ isn't a problem for deliveries, unless the pizza place is more than a mile or 2 from your house. Then I imagine the guy would be pretty pissed.

I tip 20% in any situation that calls for tipping.

So, $20 pizza? $4 tip.

Same here. I usually let the delivery man keep the change, though.

A delivery fee is often included when you buy pizza at the big names. Ask them if you're not sure.

I usually round off to the nearest $10. Though I'll walk downtown just to save a couple of bucks on that. :P

I just ordered a pizza where the total (including tax) came to $22.50, and I tipped $3.50. That's low for me, though. Usually my orders come to more like $17, and I tip around $4.

Not much. I usually just give just enough to round up the price plus one or two euros extra.

So if for instance whatever I have ordered costs like 15,20, I tell them to keep 17 or 18.

Always depends on the change. If the orders 14 euro, il tell him to keep 15. If it's 15... tough luck.

Dark__Link

Delivery fee is not a tip, though.

But the tip is supposed to be given for the hard work of whoever brought you the food.

Or does the delivery fee only exists for transportation expenses of the delivery people (motorcycle gass etc)?

The delivery fee there because the pizza place has to pay for the delivery person's gas.

Yeah, but many delivery guys just leave without even waiting for a tip as if it's included, or give you the change. You can always tip them if you want.

It's not a surprise to me that the tip is included when the cost is so high.

Yeah delivery fee is a fee they charge for bringing it to your house. The tip is something extra just for the person who brought you your food.

Depends.
Where I live (third world country, small island, caribbean.) we don't have food delivery so chances are If I'm face to face with a Pizza Delivery guy, It's in America.

I base my tip off of the two following factors.

1) If I'm at a place (Usually a friend's house or villa for a week or so) that I won't be at for less than 2 weeks and I know I'm not going to be entertaining guests and ordering lots of Pizza, I'll round it up to the nearest5 and make the bill even. I.E. - Pizza = 22:50 I give 25.

2) If I'm staying there for an extended period of time or If I'm entertaining guests, I pay him the fee, look him in the eye to see his reaction, wait for him to turn around and then go "ah ah, dude...This is for you." and give him a crisp 10 and say "Nice work man, keep this up"

I tip big.

EDIT: but when tipping I usually go $10> - whatever amount that will make the outcome a whole number $10~$20 - $1+whatever amount that will make the outcome a whole number $20~$30 - $2+whatever amount that will make the outcome a whole number and after that.... whatever I feel like

You know. I've come to the conclusion that there is a conspiracy from some secret organization that wants to make OT as dull as possible by perpetuating these f***ing trend threads.

This can't possiblu be just a random fool who missed last couple of days tip thread and went "Hey! I'm going to make yet another thread about the same subject! ^_^"

I refuse to buy that such hive-mind isn't deliberate.
