See I was gonna leave that picture extremely large, because that'd be the only correct way to express my state of mind after reading that dribble. But I'm more kind to "GS users that might have small resolutions" than that :P
it takes a special kind of leftist nut to come up with this kind of thing.surrealnumber5
I dont consider feminists to be truly liberal. I consider most of them to be authoritarian bigots.

i dont see much of a difference between this view and what is espoused by some of our more vocal ultra left wig postersit takes a special kind of leftist nut to come up with this kind of thing.surrealnumber5Actually, it's kind of funny you bring that up. She, from what I've read from her blog, associates with the anti-porn/sex feminist subgroup, which decades ago aligned itself with Republicans and right wing media groups to push abstinence, derail the porn industry, and push more traditional values. However, this group is part of the "radical" sect of feminism(as opposed to the "liberal" feminism sect), and it's not so easy to say she's "right wing", as she has a fair bit of more liberal values as well. If I were to place her anywhere in the end she'd probably be around the middle.
One could link such a statement to assuming control over women's bodies. However, with how she's stated it....it's troubling. I don't know of anyone who's pro-abortion. I know people who are pro-choice, but not pro-abortion. She's definitely more than a little misguidedIf he is Anti-Abortion he is a rape supporter...... :? How does that make any sense whatsoever?

He frames discussions of pornography in terms of "freedom of speech."
this is probably my favorite part. its like
"psshh. freedom of expression? the freedom of consenting adults to do as they please with their own bodies? the freedom to make your own choices? **** that!! **** freedom!!....... oh and by the way, we are totally a progressive, liberal movement."
with your sarcasm an on looker might think that you think "progressive, liberal movements" are for rights and liberties.......He frames discussions of pornography in terms of "freedom of speech."

the only case I can think of where ibarals are against "rights and liberties" is with gun rights. of course, I dont fall into that category. I am totally in favor of gun rights.

how about economic? how about drugs? or the use of non-illegal drugs like tabacco and where it can be smoked? what people eat? what people teach? i am still waiting on a crazy bill that wont let people go where they want within the union.[QUOTE="arbitor365"]

how about economic? surrealnumber5
I think that history has shown the consequences of unchecked business. look at the meat packing industry before regulations (read "the jungle" by Upton Sinclair on this topic). Or look at child labor or the general horrible working conditions up until the government stepped in (Charles Dickens wrote ALOT about this). Regulation in business is necessary for progress. Do you honestly think if we allow corporations to do what they want, they will keep the best interests of the people in mind?

Its ironic that you bring up drugs when liberals are the ones wanting to legalize them. on another note, "second hand smoke" IS a huge health issue, especially for kids. so it is reasonable to ban it in certain enclosed, public places.
what people eat? surrealnumber5
I dont see anyone trying to ban certain foods. maybe some liberals want to impose health regulations, but I fail to see a huge negative impact of this. Its not like MCdonalds has been illegalized or anything. there is an abundance of unhealthy foods at our disposal. no one's rights are being taken away

"what people teach?"

you mean religion in schools? that goes along with "separation of church and state," one of the pillars of our nation's founding. Keeping religion out of public schools is necessary, however, if you really want your kids to have religion further en-grained into their upbringing, there are private religious schools.
I dont think I need to explain whats wrong with it. im pretty sure there isnt a single person on this forum who will share her ridiculous point of view.

Wanna bet? I haven't looked through the thread yet, so we'll see.
EDIT: Nevermind. From this post, I can tell you're not too familiar with this forum...

...so it wouldn't be a fair bet. Dude, this is the forum where some people want to ban bottled water, for f***'s sake.
The part about "a man is a rape supporter if he is anti-abortion."
What? I believe that a fetus is a human being and I am therefore against abortion. But that doesn't mean I am pro-rape.
I think the motivation for putting that on the list is that there are people who believe that abortions are OK if the woman is raped. But I don't see it that way. It's not the child's fault the woman was raped. The child has done nothing wrong. It's like the thing where people use the phrase "illegitimate child." The child is never illegitimate, even if the parents' relationship is.
