Pro Choice. Realistically if a woman believes she cannot mentally, emotionally, or financially support a child, then she shouldn't have to( up to a certain point of development. There is a point where I believe its the equivalent to murder).

I agree with this part, also, children of rape. I can imagine the parent resenting the child their entire life.

Pro-choice but I'm not entirely sure if I believe that life truly begins at conception, rather the process of life. To me it really depends how far along the pregnancy is but either way it doesn't matter. It really comes down to what the woman wants to do with her body, how the government could ever really enforce anti-abortion laws successfuly (let's not forget the amount of money which would be spent on it) and if it's really the place of other people to decide what another person can and cannot do with their own body.

Top that all in with having a huge surplus of humans right now and to me being pro-life doesn't really make much sense.

I am pro-life in many senses. For example, I am against abortion, against the death penalty, and am nearly pacifist with regards to war (defense from a foreign oppressor on your own soil being the most clear exception). I dislike the idea of taking a person's life period.

Pro choice in cases in which:

  • Rape occurs
  • Incest occurs
  • Life of the mother is in danger

Now, the abortion procedure would have to be performed, preferably, in the first weeks of the pregnancy .

pro life and choice. I beleive everyone has the right to a life but there should be ideals in place as to what that life should consist of, ie if your child grows up to be a theif/murderer/abuser, anything that is morrally wrong in a huge way, then they dont deserve to have that life that was granted to them. In a world were overpopulation will kill us all in the far future, I see that things have to be done now about it, ie. China having a one child policy.

I am pro-choice and pro-freedom. Life is pretty overrated sometimes but this is very ambigious because English dictionary gives many definitions of the world "Life". So it depends to what definition of "life" you subscribe to.

I am neither.

If a girl has unproteced sex and get knocked up then she needs to man up and raise the baby not kill it

If a girl is raped or has a baby through forced incest then its a whole other story.

I am personally pro-life, it would have to be very strenous situation for me to be ok with abortion. Don't like it one bit, and to best of my efforts (as a man) i'd like to avoid getting into that intersection with my girlfriend/wife.

I am however, politically pro-choice, and defend the right for people to make that choice for thsmeslves.

I do have to add one last thing. I am disturbed when people treat abortion like it's no big deal.

I don't view abortion as a light topic what soever.

I resent the use of the descriptor "pro-life" to describe those who are against safe and legal abortion options. Pro-life is a rather broad term, and most of them fall significantly short of the lofty ideals such a term would carry. Anti-choice is a much better term. I am pro-choice. Though, like others, I do think their is a cut off point for abortion to be a viable option. (except in the case of the life of the mother being at risk)

Adoption /threadmonkeytoes61

Not end thread. It's obvious you have no idea how emotionally taxing a pregnancy is, even for a mother who planned the pregnancy and wants the baby. Do you even have any clue how horrible it would be to carry for nine whole months and then birth a child that is half the person who raped you? Who violated you, who likely physically restrained you or drugged you and forced you to endure potentially the worst, most horrific event of your life?

It's not like a scab that you can pick off and throw out that requires no care. She must take care of that baby through those nine months. She has to take prenatal vitamins, go to doctor's appointments, get ultrasounds, everything, to ensure the child she does not want is alright. She has to properly care for a rapist's child for nine months, and through every appointment she will probably sit and relive the day she was raped.

How the **** anyone can actually say "Oh, yeah you should just have the baby and then adopt it away, that's the "easy" way out, abortion iz sew wrong" is beyond me. That's the easy way out for everyone BUT the person whose' life is actually impacted by the pregnancy and the rape. That's like asking a rape victim to please re-live her rape for two hundred and eighty consecutive days, THEN go through childbirth and live the rest of her life knowing that if she is ever contacted by her child she may turn them away because of the fact that they were not just an accident, they were the product of an act of violence and violation.

It really shows that you're not female, nor have you ever known anyone who has been raped, because you seem to lack even the smallest amount of compassion for people who don't want to live the worst day of their lives over and over again just so somebody else can be happy with their decision. Somebody it likely does not involve or effect whatsoever, such as yourself.

Neutral..ish. Probably closer to the side of "pro-life." Ideally, I think that the procedure should be limited to victims of rape/abuse.. but that's pretty much impossible to control in reality. Making the procedure illegal is a bad idea in my opinion, but I do think it's a bit sad when someone thinks almost nothing of terminating a pregnancy that resulted from carelessness (I knew a girl who seemed to be like that.. she'd had the procedure done maybe 8 or 9 times.)
