@GazaAli Well, we do have the least work hours per week of all European countries (probably of all developed countries, but i"m not 100% on that). So i guess my answer is that we don't work :P

Given the working hours, holidays and labor laws of the Netherlands, I think you can say that confidently enough. Because honestly, you guys are one step away from the abolition of labor altogether and the inclusion of the whole of society in a rather generous and luxurious welfare system :P

@GazaAli: It is indeed great living here, especially if you come from a country in such a bad shape as mine is...

Of course I still have to deal with the discrimination, but it's bothering me less and less, especially now that I can speak the language.

Believe me, I know.

If I ever make it out of here, I anticipate that I will find discrimination there rather amusing and quite entertaining in comparison to what I had to deal with. My brownness is bothering you? I have an accent? I'm not orange enough for you? Guys plz.

My bet's on Germany winning the cup ,however I'd love to see Russia and Greece succeed.

And to the dudes who think USA are already failed, just remember, back in 2009 USA beat the crap out of Spain in Confederations Cup, and that was 2009's Spain ,with Xavi, Iniesta, Villa,Torrres ,Puyol ,Casillas and everyone else at their very best.

And pretty much like @VaguelyTagged ,I just want my homeland's team to get screwed right where they breathe, which ,anyway, will happen.Who the French toast allowed them into the competition in the first place ?

English and will be supporting England the whole way.

I think Uruguay and England will qualify out of group D.

Hopefully Sterling and Barkley are heavily involved.

Anyone feel like making a fantasy football league? I'm English and an England fan but we are not making it out of the group stages. I cant be supporting another team as that is not what we won WW2 for. So instead I am just going to support other players from all other teams.

lol, I am not that worried about our group. I think too many people are basing it on the name of the teams in our group rather than the players that they actually have at the present time.

I don't know man, people are REALLY counting out Italy. They've got a great mix of young and veteran players. Sterling is awesome but Barkley... I don't know think he should be "heavily" involved but by that I mean not play a major attacking role but with Hodgson it could go either way.

@deeliman: sometimes I wonder how the Netherlands is a functioning developed state. It appears as if you guys are in a perpetual state of partying and celebration. I have no idea how you find time and energy to labor for you know, other things.

I guess meer Marokkanen after all :3

You have no idea....I'm used to Portugal, where everything opens at 6:30 in the morning and closes at 10/11 at night, monday to sunday....here things open between 9 and 10 am, close at 5pm, sometimes close for 2 hours at lunch time and don't even open at all on sundays and monday mornings, sometimes even closed on wednesday mornings too.

Half the time I want to go shopping somewhere it's closed. The minimum wager is also 3 times higher than in Portugal. Lots of time and money to party!

It's mind boggling really. I mean, where does all that money come from? How is the Dutch economy able to sustain such prosperity while allowing for all this laxity and labor privileges?

It must be nice living there.

I hear it's a bit of a corporate tax haven. "shrugs"

Personally I'm more interested in Dutch weed and prostitution laws but hey....

I hope Wayne Rooney has a good world cup and I also think England and Italy will qualify out of the group but who knows Uruguay have Surez so it should be very interesting to see who qualifies.

ok

Anyway, that was a pen lol. The Croatians were fouling all game (21-5) and the ref had enough. Besides, you don't go pulling someone down in a 1 on 1 with the attacking player's back to goal... you just don't do it. It was so blatant and obvious.

My boy Oscar is so good. Can't wait until next season when he's playing without pressure of a WC year.

@Aljosa23: Delusional, didn't even pull him down.

Barely touched him, it was a slip more than anything.

Oscar was the best player though.

@PcGamingRig: He clearly impeded him from getting to the ball. If Croatia hadn't been conceding free kicks all game the penalty wouldn't have been given.

@Desmonic: Did you read my post? They can complain all they want, I still think it's a pen. At best it's a decision that can go either way. It was a culmination of the entire game up until now; the ref had enough of the Croatians playing rough. In slow motion that doesn't look bad but at normal speed he clearly pulled him back with Fred's back to goal. It was a dumb decision by the Lovren.

@Master_Live: I don't know about "great" refereeing lol. He disallowed that Croatian goal and Neymar should have been sent off for the elbow. Just in that one particular play I'd side with the ref.

It's not a decision that can go either way as there is NO FOUL to begin with. He (Fred) deliberately flops after that awful ball control, which he immideately knew he wasn't going to reach. He (Lovren) did not clearly pull him. Not sure what replays you saw, but even in regular play it looked like a floppity flop. He tries to grab him, yes, but he is "too late" as Fred is already on his way to damn ground. The images show this very clearly.

And no, "culmination of the entire game" is not a valid justification for bad refereeing. The ref was the one that let it get that point. The ref was the one that didn't show yellow cards on time. His bad decisions culminated on a game changing decision. Which is bad and should always be avoided. This only tells he shouldn't have been nominated for this kind of game.

That said, Brasil did more to win so the win (the entire first half + a decent chunk of the 2nd) is fitting, but don't tell me that was a penalty because it wasn't. Simple as that.

Yes it is certainly a call that could go either way. You think it's not, I think it is, no big deal. Just the hyperbole in here is silly. Looking at in normal speed he does clip his arms and Fred does embellish it... but Lovren very clearly impeded Fred from getting to the ball, which is all that really matters when it comes to getting a call in that situation. Lovren didn't even have to touch him since Fred has his back to goal.

No that's just how it is. Refs always give calls based off accumulation; it happens every game when it comes to yellow cards in midfield so why not in the box? Especially when Lovren has been pushing his luck the entire game.

The ref did call the game badly like the disallowed goal and Neymar not being sent off but in this particular play I can see why he gave the penalty.

@Brutal_Elitegs: Agreed. Still, I like them more than Spain. Boring as **** to watch.

@grahamruthven: .@ESPN_JorgeRamos reporting USA has been told by World Cup Organising Committee to be ready should Qatar be stripped of 2022 tournament

Looks like the Americans might get the 2022 WC. Will definitely be going.
