You're being a bit naive here. I doubt Square is going toallow someone to remake their intellectual property.

I personally do not like being called naive. And Im sure that NWA doesn't like it either (although i can't speak for him). He's not selling it for money. And I assure you that I know a good bit about the law due to my family. Sooo...he still needs to ask. But I do not think that they should have a problem with it.

they stopped that project where a few people were remaking Chrono Trigger to full 3D. they weren't going to sell it either, they were going to release it for free. so yeah, i'll just say, watch your back. they won't go so far as to SUE you though. if they have a problem, they'll send you an email or something as a heads up.

me and my friend are remaking FFVII into 2D also XD i'd love to trade versions so we can try each other's out~

Dude, you should make the game a 2D fighter where there are still random battles and all that jazz, but instead of turn-based you play street fighter style fights.aerisISalive

No, I actually found them. Im trying(unsuccessfully) to convert them into .MP3 files. Right now, they are .DAT files, so I can't use them.NWA_31

there are file converters out there. But I think you have to pay for them...there aren't any free ones that I know of.

Yeah, but none of them can convert .DAT files. I guess I'll just have to make my own sounds *sigh* :(
