BUG: PMs are not working

Hay guys. Trying to send PM's to my friends and they end up blank.

But I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one having this problem:(

i'm havign problems with my pms now too and they were working just fine earler today what up with that lol

DPumbliQ,one of my friends on Gamespot has a new blog about other glitches I have also experienced along with the PM glitch. In his blog titled The Glitches of GS he says the following has happend to him:

Ghost PMs: I get the regular image of a letter and an 1 next to it, but then i click it and there is no new mail in my PM box.......

Disappearing Posts: This happens to blogs, PMs, blog comments and regular topic posts....... After i click the "post" button and the page laods, there is no post......

Word Sticking: The word in my post stick together and make strange words like "ifindthisannoying"

No Edit/Delete: I can't edit or delete my posts, the page loads and says "you do not have permission to edit/delete this message"

Double posts: Even though you only clicked once on the "post" button, and even though there is a thing that should prevent double posts, they still happen, and are one of the most common glitches on GS

No Topic Posts: The topic apperas to be empty, even though there are over 10 pages and 200 posts in the topic/thread

-1 Comments: Unlike most of the glitches, this one is harmless, but annoying, it says that you didn't post the last comment (if you did) but the guy behind you did....... But your post is still there, so no worries

Have been having these problems and they are ongoing, still. They do not occur all the time but often enough to be quite annoying. Except for a couple of friends with whom I have exchanged e-mail addresses I am pretty much starting to lose contact with many people because of the lousy Message service:(

Try refreshing the blank PM window until the message appears -- it worked for me, but it's just a workaround until the underlying issue is fixed.jediskilz173

I tried to edit my last post but I don't have permission to because I'm not the author:lol:

Anyway I do refresh the blank PM several times and sometimes that helps but it doesn't always work. I even quit and restart the browser. I just showed 3 new PMs but show none there when I went to my inbox so the giitch is still going strong.

On the forums it just means we have to be more careful and always review because chances are there won't be an opportunity to edit:P

Problems with PM system...

- Number of new PM's varies. It said i had 8 new ones this morning and when i clicked to open my inbox i had no new ones at all. When i refreshed the page it said i had 2 new ones instead of 8, again when i clicked no new ones appeared.

- When the new messages did appear they were all blank and the From and Subject sections were also blank. The Reply and Inbox button was also missing.

- When you do manage to look at new PM's, they aren't marked as read and still appear asnew. I found marking them as read also didn't help.

Never is probably the best bet. You do remember you're on Gamespot don't you?

There is something wrong with the PMs, every PM I get is blank and the From and Subject section are also blank. Also the reply button is missing.Sidburn19

Same here. This has seemingly been going on since the forum post editing/quoting/delete bugs have shown up. What gives?

Hang tight, folks. These bugs are not easily replicable on our end but we haven't given up and are trying a variety of options to remedy the situation.VinceL

These are finally fixed for me. No more weird PM's from other sites or users. Leaving this open for a while too.

Yeah,I think is fixed for me too,until now is working fine.

My PM system is working! Finally the glitch has stopped! Now I am going to see if the other glitch has stopped. By other glitch, I mean the "No Editing" glitch that does not let you edit your own stuff.

EDIT: It seems the other glitch is gone because I just edited this! Sweet!!!!! :D

I'm glad these are fixed...now just on to the level updates!3eyedrazorback

You need to exercise some form of patience. They will get fixed as I stated in the proper thread. I have no idea why some people are so obsessed with a level other than the users who need levels to do things like write reviews, start a Union, etc.

Oh I'm patient. But patience goes only so far with these glitches. It takes its toll on the weary mind. But now they're ok. Thanks for working them out!

Alright closing this. Anybody has a problem with pm's again just let me know and I can either re-open or we will make a new thread.
