One of Phil Hartman's Last Projects

User Rating: 5.8 | Blasto PS
The reason why I bought this game was because Phil Hartman played the voice of the main character. I had little interest in the plot, game play, other reviews, it had Phil Hartman. If you have ever visited my GameSpot profile or read any of my other reviews, it is very common knowledge that I am a Simpson’s fan. The characters that I enjoyed most are the ones acted by Phil Hartman. I also liked films he was in, other shows and even used to watch Saturday Night Live just because he was on it. With this in mind, it is not a stretch to believe why I picked up and still own a copy of this title.

The game itself is pretty lousy. The camera angles are maddening. The graphics are heavily pixilated and the plot is pretty thin. The saving factor of the whole game is to hear the one-liners that Blasto drops throughout the game and the cut scenes that explain the story; both of which a very funny and entertaining.

Playing the game starts pretty easy. It has a feel of a lot of platform game on the market, but it has a little more focus on the shooting, but jumping plays a big part. Once you hit levels two or three and the game gets very difficult and the jumps near impossible. You add that to camera angles that always seem to get in the way at the very worst moments. With all of that said, I was still able to finish the game.

This game is for a very select few. Heck, unless you are a fan of Phil Hartman and you do not need to own one of the last projects he worked on, there is no real need to own this title.
