Xbox One's Game Pass Adds Seven Games For August

Dead Rising 3 and more will soon be playable.

More games are on the way to Xbox Game Pass in August. The Netflix-style subscription service will soon be home to seven more games. Starting on August 1, Game Pass subscribers on Xbox One will be able to play the following games:

These are the full versions of these games. Like other Game Pass titles, they are downloaded and played right off your hard drive, rather than being streamed (as is the case with PlayStation Now). The Netflix-style service is home to more than 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games that can be played on Xbox One for $10/£8/AU$11 per month.

Microsoft doesn't mention any games leaving Game Pass in August. We know that the library is not permanent, like the EA/Origin Access Vault. Games will eventually rotate out, but it seems likely that what's in there will stay for the time being, given the service is still so new. You can check out our full list to see all the Xbox Pass Games titles.

We also learned this week what titles will be offered for free through Games With Gold--which is an entirely unrelated service--next month. Starting on August 1, Slime Rancher (which makes its Xbox One debut on that day) will be free alongside three other games. In the meantime, you can see what's on sale on the Xbox Store this week.

Haven't you people grown tired of complaining yet? No?... well I have. Game Pass, PS Now, EA Access... all ways to bring games to people. Shut it. The only thing I do want to complain about is the fact that Sony has yet to provide it's customers EA Access. It's a service people have the right to have.

""The Netflix-style subscription service""

""rather than being streamed (as is the case with PlayStation Now). The Netflix-style service""

this site is really getting worse

lets compare for shits and giggles -

ps now: streams games - sub - dont get to keep the games - not offered to go to a store for discount to buy and keep

netflix: streams films - sub - dont get to keep the films - not offered to go to a store for discount to buy and keep

x box pass: dosnt stream games -sub - downloads games to hard drives - offered to go to a store for discount to buy and keep

hmmmm i wonder which one is more ""The Netflix-style subscription service"" yet in all the years of ps now being active , NOT once has game spot compare the two which is much closer in comparison but uses that tag line for two services that ARE completely different

just keep ripping articles from ign and other new sites ...... this site cant write for them selves at all

@Flyin3lvl: Why spend the time to nitpick this? It's one of many ways games are being made available to people without yet having a specific name for it. What the hell is the problem?

@khanwashere: im not nitpicking the services im just pointing out ps now is more netflix then what x box pass is

x box pass took it to a new level like how sky (uk) has done with tv and film box sets - pay to rent but they get downloaded to the actual box, if you like said film/show then pay to keep it, which then can be transferred to phone/laptop/tablets

you cant compare netflix with x box its set up is so different yet this ""journalist"" done it anyway and based the article around that premise ........ thats all im complaining about the lack of outside thinking and lazy journalism

its great to have more ways to play games i have used ps now ...... x box pass is its own service ahead of the game for consoles but doing something sky has done for a few years now....... just isnt comparable to netflix

One old X1 game, one "recent" X1 game and just crap/very old games just as I expected. It's just insulting they still trying to attract gamers with games like limbo who release on every system possible and old neo geo games.

Uh yeah... I think I'm going to wait for Quantum Break to show up on the list and then use my trial.
