Xbox One X Is For The "Discerning Connoisseur Of Gaming," Says Spencer

I would describe it as the console for assholes. Yea, the Xbox One X is the "most powerful console ever..." Until the next "most powerful console ever" comes out. This thing is like a return to early 90s horsepower marketing; they may as well be saying "do the math" or "Have you seen the Xbox One X? What are you waiting for, Sony to make one?" What are you actually playing? Basically the same stuff you where playing like 9 years ago on the 360. If you think that games are about temporary spec bumps that amount to nothing then yea, the Xbox One X is for you. Do the math, this one has 6 teraflops, the other one has 4.

Frankly it's all visually indistinguishable to me. "6 teraflops" doesn't make an ugly, brown and yellow game with a boring, nondescript realistic setting look any different to me. In 2006 it was Gears of War, an ugly brown and yellow game where you stand next to boxes. In 2017 it's Shadow of War, an ugly brown and yellow game where you pay real money for boxes. Yea you're all real "connoisseurs;" you have such discriminating pallets for loot boxes.

When turning on your discerning Xbox1X, your gaming attire must consist of a bespoke top hat, ash wood walking stick with a sterling silver carved handle, white gold framed and chain linked monocle, and some Louis XIII cognac at hand for those "tense" moments dealing with the online plebs.

Yeah, kinda. The guy who's going to buy an X is probably the guy who already has a PlayStation and an Xbox, and upgraded to a Pro when that came out, and now he wants better visuals for his bigass TV. I don't think the Xbox One X is really aimed at new console buyers, or folks who still need to get a PlayStation, so much as it is gamers who've got the big consoles already, and probably a nice PC, and want to upgrade so they can get the best visuals and performance.

I do prefer sipping my cognac and puffing on Cuban's while Team Death Matching Halo in 4k...

The console for old games for xbox1 x . When playstation 1 ,2,3 and 4 got lots games than Xbox and also got more new exclusives ps4 games . Beat that Phil since you liar.

Got my Scorpio edition yesterday and tried out FFXV, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Gears 4, and Assassin's Creed Origins, and they look NICE and play well with the enhanced framerates. Plus I now have a 4K blu-ray player. You never count Microsoft out when it comes to hardware, that's for sure.

It's for those how have more money then sense, who spend £100 on an elite controller as they believe it'll make them better. Sorry hard work and practice are what make you better, not spending money.

Anybody seen any Xbox in the shops?? I haven't and its not cuz they sold out. It cuz we only got limit stock due to poor uptake.

I am a connoisseur of gaming.. meaning I always buy new titles and NEVER finish them. This new Xbox One X sounds like it is right up my alley!

I find it beautifully, wonderfully ironic that we are up to 138 comments, many of which are people arguing about whether X1X or PS gamers are "connoisseurs," forgetting that both products have marketing tie ins with Taco Bell.

But I think it's with the STEAK taco meal, so there's that.

The gamer that wants the best visuals will likely get a PC. This is for the one that wants good visuals, but doens't have enough money for a PC, and that doesn't care for the critically acclaimed exlcusives on PS4. In other words, a niche market.
