NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. on Monday released the launch trailer for upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat X. The developer went the extra mile with the video, enlisting the help of System of a Down's Shavo Odadjian, who directed the trailer. It also features the band's iconic "Chop Suey" song.

The video highlights Mortal Kombat's numerous returning and new characters, and ends with a particularly brutal Fatality. Make sure to watch through to the end.

A special TV trailer for Mortal Kombat X, which features live-action footage and gameplay, also uses "Chop Suey" to great effect.

The Mortal Kombat X release date is April 14 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions, however, have been delayed.

I love this game. I'm counting the days until it's released.


But GODDAMN is this trailer crappy. I would never show this to someone I'd recommend the game to. Terrible job of promotion.

This game looks really good. I want to pick it up but I'm still battling through DAI and have Bloodborne waiting, followed by Witcher 3 then Batman. Maybe I'll wait til later this year and pick up Komplete Edition w all dlc digitally for $40 around Thanksgiving.
