Rock Band 4 Revealed for Xbox One And PS4

I hope they can get some ELO and Frank Zappa on this one. I still play them all. Interactive way of listening to the radio so to speak.

Get ready for DLC milking like you have never seen before.

I'd love it if I could sync it with my itunes and play off that instead of having to buy songs that they don't put in the game from playstation store but that's not gonna happen.

Why buy new when you can just play what you already have? (unless you for some reason dumped everything)Like someone said, no one played the game for the graphics.

Have to buy all the instruments over again..

But really though, what else is there to add to the game? I don't see this new game being very fresh.

So it seems like they are doing everything right: support for existing peripherals; DLC carry over; and releasing only one disc with future content being DLC. The questions are, does anyone care? What are they doing new that people can't get on the previous generation?

I've never got into Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but after Rocksmith, I just don't think I can waste countless hours learning to play a guitar that isn't real. But if they supported a Rocksmith or some other 1/4 inch to usb Tuner cable then that'd be something.

Oh gawd. Mad Catz.

Anyway... what I'd really like to see is a 7-button guitar. Give people the option of selecting classic 5-button mode and the new 7-button mode, and stick 7 buttons on the controller. The problem with having the same setup time and time again is that eventually people get good at the game and then each subsequent release has a tracklist that's 80% boring to play. That's why I stopped buying these games. If they offered something a little different, I think they'd be better off. Not only that but if they offered a 7-button mode, people coming back with old peripherals that are supported might be tempted to pick up the new one to try the 7-button mode so it's a win-win for everybody.

If they can get the old peripherals to work on the new systems, wouldn't that mean that Sony/Microsoft lied when they said that it wasn't possible for the last gen steering wheels to work on the PS4/Xbox One?

It's cool that they're allowing people to carry across the DLC though.

They better work their butts off because I am not buying the kids all new hardware for this game. I still have 3 guitars in mint condition.

But I already flipped all my peripherals on Craigslist.

If this turns out to be a smashing hit, I wouldn't be surprised that Activision will also revive Guitar Hero as well. For god's sake, I hope Activision doesn't start releasing after and after Guitar Hero games which was the downfall of these games.

Pleased to hear this announced, but WTF about dropping support for Pro instruments and keyboards? This is a serious step backwards Harmonix. I mainly played keyboards, pro drums and pro guitar in Rock Band 3 as the standard setup was getting a little too easy.

I'm excited for RB 4. After a 5 year hiatus, I feel the game will be fun like it was, when RB 1 first came out. I like the idea of having the last gen controllers work for this gen, helps save space for more plastic peripherals.
