In the trailer shown off during The Game Awards--watch it above--we see three heroes wield magical weapons as they face off against a massive foe approaching from the sky. According to the press release for the game, Godfall is a melee-focused action-RPG focusing on fighting foes, collecting loot, and amassing player. Though you play solo, you can also join groups of up to three players to take on the more dangerous challenges.
It's interesting to note that Godfall has been a known game for some time. On the developer's official website, the game has been in development for a few years now, and it's been funded by Kowloon Nights, an independent video game investment firm that also has some stake in the upcoming game from Ico and Shadow of the Colossus creator Fumito Ueda. Gearbox Publishing will be handling publishing for the game.
