The Game Awards has finally wrapped up, celebrating the past year in the games industry and looking ahead to the year to come. There were plenty of trailers, and everyone was looking forward to learning which games the jury selected as winners for the 30 different award categories. Of course, the biggest prize was Game of the Year, and some terrific games competed for it. These included a family-friendly game, ultra-violent action games, and the latest game from a beloved indie studio.

The nominees for that were Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, and The Last of Us Part 2. It was ultimately The Last of Us Part 2 that took home the top prize.
