Mass Effect: Andromeda's Early Access Period Officially Begins Today

EA/Origin Access members can start playing today.

Mass Effect: Andromeda's official release date isn't until March 21 in North America, but some Xbox One and PC owners can play a portion of the game starting today.

EA/Origin Access subscribers can play a 10-hour trial for the spacefaring RPG today. As announced previously, the trial lets you check out the campaign and multiplayer. The single-player is limited, though you can play as much multiplayer as you want within the 10 hours.

Now Playing: GameSpot Presents: The Story of Mass Effect Andromeda - Trailer

The Origin Access trial actually started on March 15, it seems, though not everyone was able to jump in at that time.

With very few exceptions, all major EA-published games are available for EA/Origin Access subscribers to play five days before their public release. Other benefits of the $5/month or $30/year subscription program include discounts on digital content and unlimited access to an expanding library of games. No version of EA Access is available on PlayStation 4.

GameSpot will have a lot more on Andromeda in the coming days. The first part of our new video series, The Story of Mass Effect: Andromeda, airs this Saturday, March 18. You can watch a trailer for that above.

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.
