For only $30, Alien Hominid is one of the best "underdog" games that is a blast to play and great game all together.

If you didn't know, Alien Hominid actually started as a flash game on the website www.newgrounds.com. This game had over 6 million downloads and was a fantastic and awesome side-scrolling game. All of the graphics are hand-drawn and incredible to look at. So if you are a first time player or a Alien Hominid vet, this game could definately be for you. Alien Hominid is a side-scrolling shooter where an Alien Hominid (hence the title) is trying to get his aircraft back after the FBI took it. Some people who played it on Newgrounds might be wondering, Why should I pay $30 to play a game on my GameCube or PS2 where I have already played it on the pc? Alien Hominid is a totally different game now. Some new features allow you to roll, do backflips and use grenades. There are power-ups that you gain through playing the game so you use a different gun and also changes your grenades. There is now driving in the game where you could drive civillian vehicles and you will get your UFO back and will use that. There are also so "classified vehicles" that you will get later on in the game. This game is very difficult and in some cases you will feel that there are no ways to survive some parts. It's good to know there are different difficulty levels. There is TS (Thumb Sucker), Easy, Medium, and Hard. To play beyond level five you are required to be on the Easy to Hard difficulties (TS is out here). You will be playing this game for times to come. The game has a whopping 16 levels and includes mini games such as PDA games. Also there is a Pianta Boss mini game where you have to shoot the Pianta Boss and grab as much candy as you can before the time runs out. In this game you will also be fighting another boss and maybe against someone in the second controller slot. In the PDA games you can also create your own custom levels. Throughout the game you will be able to unlock hats which are very stylish and let you know who is who when you are playing multiplayer in the story mode and in the mini games. All in all, if you have $30 and a PS2 or a GameCube you should go out right now and buy Alien Hominid, it's a great game with a challenge and will have you on the edge of your seat for a long time.
