after watching a number of YouTube playthroughs for this, I think I'll continue watching them. for an action game, framerate is a serious issue and I don't think I can stomach that much FPS drops. the story is certainly intriguing though. it's not realistic by any standards, but that's exactly what fiction is, right? so I'll just watch other people play like it's a film.

To be honest, when Nilin just reached the Neo-Paris surface, I thought this game is an open-world.. but it wasn't. I tried to jump down a random ledge but nothing happened. I began playing on Saturday, finished it on Sunday and couldn't help saying "that's all?" The gameplay felt quite shallow... I felt like playing a FPS minus the guns and explosions.

I love the remixing though, I expected a couple more of such setpieces. The Madame boss battle was also memorable, to me she deserves to be the final or penultimate boss. Overall still I'd say the game is greater than the sum of its parts. 6.5 or 7.0 is a fair score.

I was among the very few optimistic ones during pre-release of this game. Even then, I find myself disappointed. A good call not to buy this game :(

As far as I know, nobody plays a game based on graphics alone. as graphic-cards-burning as Far Cry & Crysis games are, if the gameplay is below par I don't think they would have achieved as much success. graphics definitely improve a game's experience (and the game will catch a lot of attention in trailers and gaming fairs), but I think gameplay is still the most important. there are already plenty of examples of games with not-so-amazing graphics but excellent gameplay that succeed critically and/or commercially, but what about the other way round: are there games that, despite their bland gameplay, somehow achieve a measure of success simply due to their stunning graphics?

9 months ever since I own my Vita and still not bored yet.. granted, I'm mostly playing PSP games I missed out since my PSP went kaput around 2-3 years back. I think Vita needs a bit more 'exclusive' games. Disgaea, Persona, Uncharted, BO:Declassified are all ports/remakes (albeit with a lot of extras), with BO being a half-hearted spin-off. personally I find Virtue's Last Reward a good candidate to carry the Vita flag -- it utilises touch-screen very well. unfortunately it's not a game for everyone. if more devs make games that are unique to Vita, naturally more people will buy the console. just my 2 cents...

I only bother to be a Ghost on games that give me proper tools to do proper stealth and reward stealthplay with at least some satisfaction. Difficulty Snob is only for CoD series; reason? playing on Veteran makes the game feel longer. pathetic, I know, but it's better than nothing. I did Min/Maxer and Hoarder a bit before, but after some time it can be quite exhausting.
