I'm only half-way through second level of KZ2 but so far it's definitely the best console shooter I've played this gen (Well I'd go with bioshock but the gameplay is better in KZ2).

No idea what some ppl's gripe with the controls are...

I set it to control scheme 2 (CoD4 style) and my ps3 must be magic since I do not get controller latency at all.

Filthybastrd
Those people griping are mostly lemmings, and some who just happen to own a ps3 and maybe 1 or 2 games but they love their xbox....most of them will bash ps3 games just for being Sony games and not 360 games. You see it all the time in system wars. Especially the guys who have ps3 trophy tags that have been at level 1 or 2 for the last 4 months and bad mouth everything ps3 related in every other thread. KZ2 is a masterpiece, the lems have been envious or in denial since it came out. They all expected it to be a flop like the first...they were wrong. then gamespot and 99% of the web agrees that kz2 is fantastic.

Well after countless hours with Kz2 I would definitly say it is the best fps this gen easily. I've recently went back and tried several games and they all fell flat after having time with KZ2. Such as cod4, TF2, BF2, Crysis, R2. All of them just feel boring now, and just not as special as they once were prior to playing KZ2. Only R2's MP has that fun appear that can keep you playing for a while without even noticing the time spent on it. But when the marbles are all rolling around, they all roll toward Kz2.

KZ2 has the most hectic battles, the best graphics for MP, the best feeling weapons, the best character movement, unlockables that actually mean something. I mean after you get done with a good days worth of playing KZ2 you actually feel like you've carried a rifle all day, and that you've worked for the kills that you got. I'm telling all doubters out there that if you just give Kz2 a chance and play the game it definitly makes all other games feel awkward lol, I mean the other night I hated the way cod4 felt when running around, it just felt meh and lifeless. Also the feeling of being better actually meaning something in a game is also something special to witness in this day of noob games where getting shot in a toes kills ya lol (cod4).

And people stating TF2 as the best, then need to rethink that statment cause Kz2 definitly takes what is great about TF2 and just blows it up x100 and that is KZ2.

Also in KZ2 the team work, rivals, proximity chat, quick matches, server listings, follow friends, amount of players server search, and the amount of customizing you can do in creating a match is just awesome and all of these things make Kz2 a win win situation for any fps fan.

GreyFoXX4
This I agree with all you said! I was just playing kz2 last night and got stuck on it for 4 horus as the matches in warzone are so fluid and just make you keep playing. The feel is definatly better than other fps games. I played cod wow and after the one night and it felt like i was just floating in the air, like a floating gun...lol.. Cod series was good, but kz2 took it's place. Of course all these lemmings would say otherwise, notice that all the people saying that kz2 sucks are lemmings, or lemmings who own a ps3 but bash it consistantly. If these people would actually buy and play kz2, they would know the truth...that kz2 is the funnest mp shooter today!

The graphics, gameplay (especially the unlockable badges in multi) and the hit response physics system are all great! Its been awhile since I enjoyed a FPS this much!!

P.S get ready for a bunch of halo fanboys to storm this topic and say other wise.

insomnia37
Yeah, its sad how the halo lems feel like they need to bash killzone 2 so much. My bet is they are just jealous or need to bash just to make it feel ok to them that they can't play it, or hell all the other great mutiplayer games on the ps3. You know everyone praises the graphics, which are top notch by the way, but I feel the gameplay in killzone2 is on the same level. GG made a hell of a game, and thanks to Sony for giving them the time, money, and Support to do so. You won't see m$ doing that, hell no it's unreal 3 and middleware with a top end of 1year to 1.5 year dev time, for ms.

[QUOTE="lebanese_boy"]

There's a difference: The PS2 was filled with gems whereas the Wii isn't, it has a small selection of great titles.

Also I highly doubt the Wii will last as long as the PS2, Nintendo don't make their hardware last as long as Sony does.

But I guess business-wise, the Wii is a much bigger success.

-snorlax-
The money they made for the wii is going to better game development. With the economy, I expect the wii to be an exception and last 15 years at the most.

You want to know what is sad, that Nintendo actually did a price hike on the wii in Europe. How geedy are they? Very, as much as I loved my Nes and the snes rpgs back in the day, the wii is targeted at two age demigraphics: 4-12 year olds , and 40 year old women - old people. Then you got the rest who bought the thing thinking it was cool, but realized it sucked so they got a ps3 or 360 and haven't touched the thing since. The 3rd party on wii sells like crap. They have tried and failed. The teen market 13-17 is not on board and niether is the core 18-35 market. The will only attracts casuals or parents buying for their kids in those age groups. And the only games that sell are the casual 1st party nintendo games, wii sport, wii fit, wii music, and mario cart. Everything else has sold crappy. Ports can't be done like on PS360 because the hardware is last gen, it's a souped up gamecube, and it still doesn't have a programmable pixel/vertex shader pipeline...lol... that technology came out in 2001, the original xbox had it using a converted geforce 3 card. The wii is a fad that will die. "Just Wait!"

[QUOTE="GrilledCharlie"][QUOTE="EmperorSupreme"]The only reason to get a 360 that I can see is if you can't afford the upfront price of a PS3. The PS3 for a long time now has been getting the better games, has the better lineup of games, and will continue to get the best games because Sony has invested heavily in first party development. While MS on the other hand has either let go or closed down most of their game studios. I also believe for the money PS3 is a better value, the free online (which I think is better than XBL paid for service, more features and better online games), less nickel and diming (restrictive DRM on 360, gamertags on 360, etc...), Blu-ray, wifi, reliability, etc... 360 is like Walmart, it's good if you want cheap and don't care about quality or value

I whole-heartedly disagree with you about PSN being better than XBOX Live. PSN is disjointed and cold compared to Live. The party and chat system on Live is eons ahead of what PSN is doing. I mean, PSN just finally got game to game text.

Come on, that is the same excuse lemmings spew all the time about x-box live, you are only paying for cross game chat. Big deal PS3 has cross game text chat or video voice chat out of game or voice chat in game. I would rather be talking to my squad in killzone 2 than someone watching a movie. If I want to talk to a fiend out of game I will use the phone. Or text them a message. Cross game chat is overrated.

Buy or upgrade an existing PC.

Brendissimo35
Wow all the hermits came into this thread at once. Funny thing is I was a hermit until last year when i bought my ps3. Getting a 50-60hour a week job developing websites and doing tech support on a pc all day, beleive me I didn't feel like playing games on pc after work anymore. PS3 was the best thing going, the most open console, supports user made mods and kb/mouse in ut3, uses laptop hard-drives, bluetooth headsets or usb, can use pc web cams or controllers, has built in wifi, free online play, dedicated servers, runs linux distros, has folding at home news network globe, home, internet browser with flash support and native You -tube app, blue-ray, bluy ray games, video store, game downloads, photo, pic movies, use of external hds, letting you move files on to the hard-drive. All in the box. I love my ps3, and it was the best console purchase i have ever made. It is also getting a ton of new games. And buying ps3 exclusives doens't hurt pc. Any dedicated pc gamer should not like ms for shutting down devs and forcing it's crappy games for windows live garbage. PS3 is a pc users dream for a console.

Yeah , you should definatley get the ps3. I am 30 years, old have found almost no kids, and if there are they are real mature unlike xbox. The psn cards are for downloadable games. There are tons of creative non-disc release games for sale from $5-$10 and even blue-ray sized games for download like burnout paradise, WARHAWK(which is awesome, 32 player battlefield 2 like game with customizable planes, tanks, jetpaks etc..on dedicated servers, ), Socom, MAg is coming 256 players, God of war 3, Final Fantasy 13 the non port, final fantasy 13 vs. Uncharted, Uncharted 2, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, Ico, Twisted metal, Wipeout hd, White knight chronicles, Disgaea 3, Heavenly sword, Resistance 2, Reistiance, Heavy Rain, Killzone. Sony has over 20+ 1st party developers making the exclusive games that will never go to 360. Microsoft only has 2 first party devs, as they killed off their devs to buy dlc. Would you rather have games that push the console on every release or mediorcre halo using a last gen engine or middleware like unreal 3. All 1st party sony games use their own game enigines built for the games, with dedicated servers. compared to the mostly peer to peer on 360 with almost all games using unreal engine. I came from a pc background last gen to the ps3 this gen, its really the way to go. And 1920x1200 16:10 works great on my monitor. I use hdmi, but you can use hdmi-dvi adapter if you don't have the hdmi connetor.

[QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"][QUOTE="joe11king"][QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"] Can you confirm it does support? I have been looking for that in a spec through websites.

Yes i own the system and play at 1440x900 on my 19" Westinghouse.

Mine is 1920x1200...

you'll be fine and happy(my gateway montior is 1920x1200), so happy getting a ps3, I was last april and still am! Best decision I ever made!

[QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"]I am going to use a video game console for my PC LCD monitor, Samsung T260. I still can't decide which one to buy because it depends on the quality for my monitor. The problem I see with my monitor is that it has 16:10 aspect ratio. I have heard a rumor about Xbox 360 updates to support 16:10, but it hasn't confirmed yet. For Playstation 3, I've heard nothing about it supports for 16:10 aspect ratio. I read a review from last year that blu ray in PS3 looks like a standard dvd on T260. I would hate to play in a stretched picture quality because it doesn't feel right. I have a feeling that next year will be a new video game console system, so should I wait for one more year insteads?

I use both a 24" hdmi gateway 16:10 computer monitor and a sony bravia for my ps3(use the bravia when the girl isn't home) and the montior fills the whole screen when overscan is enabled. Without overscan it has maybe a 1/4 at the top and and a 1/4 inch across the bottom, not noticable at all. And when in overscan mode, it looks fantastic not stretched. The ps2 on my monitor on the other hand, has interlacing lines when in fast movement, and large black bars on the left and right about 5 inches each...wish my monitor played the ps2 like my brivia. Anyway the ps3 is the way to go. The games out now, the future releases for this year and next, the console features the non-proprietary hardware, the build quality... PS3 is the way to go!
