Play Yoshi's Island. It's widely regarded (and deservedly so) as the best platformer ever made. Read this.

So I just picked up Tactics Ogre, haven't played the PSP in a few months (at least). I crack open a beer and try to load the game up. It tells me I have to install the new firmware, so I try to do this and then it tells me that I have to charge the battery before I can do this. I have it plugged into the wall! This sucks!
What do you guys think about Dragon Quest V? What about it do you like? I've heard this one focuses on story more than the older ones did (since it was the first one to be released for the Super Famicom).
I've only played a little of the very first one on the NES. With all the attention on DQIX coming out on DS recently, I've started to consider picking on of these games up. I've been thinking about getting DQV for DS. What do you guys know about the Dragon Quest games? I like my RPGs with good stories and character development.
You have to have been around when it was originally released. It was so awesome playing Tetris and Super Mario Land back then. Gamegear was garbage, I don't understand how anyone thinks it's better than the Gameboy. The only thing it had over the Gameboy was color, but it doesn't matter since the games sucked.
Symphony of the Night is awesome, I'd start with that one. If you want some classic Castlevania action, try Super Castlevania IV for SNES, or Castlevania III for NES.
Some recommended games:
Super Mario Bros. 3
Kirby's Adventure
Casltevania 3
The Legend of Zelda
Final Fantasy
Mega Man 2 (or 3)
My lens cleaning disc has extended the life of my launch date PS2 by about 2 years (and still going).
