I guess my PS2 just turned 8 years old then, since I got it on launch day, and it's still going strong. I got Shadow of the Colossus last week and I still need to start playing it.

It takes some getting used to, but it is so rewarding when you really get into it. There are so many possibilities with this game with all the character classes. It is more in depth than other Final Fantasy games, but that's fine since battling is the whole focus of this game. Just remember to equip skills you learn and don't be afraid to switch jobs. You are completely in control of the skills your characters develop. Oh, and since it's your first time playing, use 2 save files so you don't get stuck somewhere you can't get out of. Don't be afraid of the learning curve, believe me!

I just picked up a brand new Gameboy Micro 20th anniversary edition off of eBay. What do you guys think of the GBM? I just think it's kind of cool because it's so tiny. Anybody here have one?

I think they are both in the same key. They both almost have a drone like sound to them, which is on the same pitch in both songs. Besides that, they are both mainly slowly moving choral pieces with light accompaniment. The Metroid song is in 3 and the Kingdom Hearts song is in 4. The Metroid song changes the fundamental about 25 seconds in. It's a little more complex than the Kingdom Hearts song. They do sound pretty similar at the beginning.

Wow, Secret of Mana huh? I would have thought S.E. would have put that on DS or PSP and charged $40 for it. I just bought a copy for the SNES a few months ago for around $30, so this is a great deal! Here's hoping for Secret of Mana 2 on the VC sometime in the future.

I got it at midnight on launch day back in 2000, and I can't believe it still works after all these years of aggressive play and movie watching. Any of you guys have one of these as well? If not, how old is your working PS2?

The megaman series is tough, really tough, and itll take a lot of practice before you're even remotely good at it.

Also side question, is megaman 2 easier than 9?

gamer6464

2 is way easier than 9. The stages seem so short in 2, and the bosses are REALLY easy on normal mode. It's still just as fun though, interestingly. The Wily castle stages are pretty tough. I'd have to say that playing 2 would be a good way to get into the series if you haven't played any of them.

The story gets a lot better, it's pretty predictable at the beginning. You're in for a good story if you stick all the way til the end. It took me 70-80 hours to finish. It should start picking up pretty soon.

I liked the characters, the story was wacky in a good way and had enough twists and turns to satisfy, and I also enjoyed the love story between Squall and Rinoa. The music is fantastic, the graphics at the time were killer. The intro is amazing and sucked me into the game world, never to let me go.

I loved it when I first played it, but it truly became my favorite after playing all the other FF games at that point in time. Being different has a lot to do with why. Unlike yourself, I enjoyed the setting. The Junction system...I've simply never had a problem with it. I liked drawing spells from enemies or finding the draw points. The card game was awesome too. Nostalgia plays a role as well. It was my second Final Fantasy, IX was my first (I didn't get into RPG's until 2000).

I can understand why people hate it though.

My only complaint is that I wish there was a way to skip the GF summons. I admit it gets tedious after awhile.

I'm playing IX again right now and I can't wait to finish, because I'm moving on to VIII.

Saruman1719

I forgot about the card game, but that was a really cool little diversion from the main game. I liked being able to charge the GFs during summoning, but it was so annoying when you accidently got the charger down to 75.
