If they really cared, they'd at least break it down into packages for people who only want to play online. They don't even want to give us options.

NO, you bought your XBOX, you know that LIVE is a paid for service. How can they be holding you hostage when you willing signed up to it?
I Dont see many World of Warcraft players complaining about paying a subscription, hey i can go run in the park for free, perhaps my gym should let me in for free aswell since exercise is free elsewhere.
you are either willing to pay or you are not if you bought an Xbox, you should know that its a requirement to play online you must pay. thats it, there is no hostage taking at all.
And hostage implies you have no choice... People know exactly how much its costs when they pay for it.... MS isnt forcing anyone to pay... People pay $15 a month for WoW... I know I do... I get way more time from XBL.... And of course ppl make the aurgument that WoW is constantly getting better... Thats true but so is XBL.. People buy expansion packs for MMOs and there paying for a monthly fee... Based off you peoples logic I should be getting that content for free.
