@Razer361 I don't think there is anything wrong with a long-running franchise, as long as the games being released are good.

That being said, not much hope for ME4 at this point. Super pumped for Halo 4 and MGS5, though. Those two have never disappointed me.

Indoctrination Theory - it makes it as if the ending to ME3 never happened (Let's hope, right? :P)

If they go with that, they could easily transition all three "different" endings into a single plot for ME4

@sledgefang Leviathan and Extended cut actually did a decent job of explaining all that.

However, Leviathan's new addition to the story (won't say in case someone cares about spoilers) does reveal a fairly obvious/predictable story path for the new ME.

I just hope that they set the game after the events of ME3, so we can at least get some clarification on what happened there (remember Indoctrination Theory?). This would be the one thing that could (somewhat) make up for that unsatisfying ending.

Probably won't happen, though. If I remember correctly, Casey was the one responsible for that mess of an end for ME3, and I'm guessing he'll want to keep it just the way it is.

They're setting up some awfully specific goals here, and it sounds like they haven't really started the game yet. Good recipe for disappointment.

@Dragon5-1 Not necessarily. There's at least one ending where Shepard survives.

Shepard could die at the end of Mass Effect 2, as well. They still made a third one.
