This thread is pointless. Their is no overrated or underrated band, it is all subjective.

the top line shows your right hand strum pattern for the song. The bottom line represents the time signature of the song for what to play during the song on time. If you still do not know how to play it, just listen to the song and strum along with the chords till you get it. Hope that helps :)

Hmm well to be honest, its best that you try to play both guitars to see how they feel and if they meet your guitar standards. You said you play grunge/alternative which contains anti solos, so a whammy bar would be needed. Vai and Satch use Floyd rose tremolos for dive bombs and such so thatch necessary as well. Bigsby can cost up to 300 to get and install, and they put your guitar out of tune pretty easily. They also do not bend upwards for dive bombs and such as the metal guys do. Judging by your style it seems like the ESP suites your style more. Grunge guys do tend to use fenders and gibsons primarily. Metal guys ESP,Ibenez, Dean, Sheckter etc.

If the artist creates their own samples then I am fine with it. Also sometimes a bad song might have one good part in it which is worth sampling. If the artist can manage to completely create a brand new unique song using sampling then I don't really mind it. Then again creating new music from scratch is always better than sampling someone else's work.

I'm gonna say some pretty generic answers but these songs are popular for a reason. I will do one per band. Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana Day In the Life - The Beatles War Pigs - Black Sabbath Space Oddity - David Bowie Light My Fire - The Doors Peaches En Regalia - Frank Zappa Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix Sometimes - My Bloody Valentine A Man Needs A Maid - Neil Young Can't Decide on a single Pink Floyd Song, there are too many good ones. I think Echoes is amazing though. Debaser - Pixies Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - Smashing Pumpkins Those are just off the top of my head at the moment :)

Yeah there is no point in getting a acoustic bass if you already have an electric, unless if you plan to go mobile a lot to play music. If yes then get it, if not it is always good to have a game console to chill and play games on. Music first though.
