@idk95 @uglypinkmoose @jmc88888 I know that's what I'm hoping will change this gen after the PS3 proved how smart it is to hold on to a franchise(I thought Nintendo already proved that but owell) They did put a crap load of money into exclusives for the Xboxone though so they might get it now.
@louisvign @uglypinkmoose @jmc88888 Well from what I've seen Ryse looks better than Killzone but I still play games that came out before I was even born(I'm 24) so graphics aren't really something I judge closely.
I don't own either console yet because I don't care about any of the games that are coming out or have been announced enough to drop the money so for me it all depends on what game announcement wins me over.
I'll probably have both within the next 5 or 6 years anyways because I thought my 360 and my PS3 were well worth their price tags. I don't think I have to worry about neglecting one.
But it's all just so much money so I'm not buying anything in till a next gen game impresses me.
I do think the Xboxone doesn't really have a right to cost more though.... I mean it's because of Kinect but if your going to add in something like that you can't expect everyone to want to pay more for it.
@jamesh-42 yeah I'm aware some of the game mechanics would need to be tinkered with.... I guess that's why they don't have online multiplayer to begin with but it is a shame.
@jmc88888 dude unless you put the games side by side you can't even tell...
Xbox One games still look amazing so you can talk tech mumbo jumbo all you want but the average person won't even notice what looks better and it'll end up being decided by the games.
The PS3 was more powerful than the 360 but that only really had an effect on exclusives. Otherwise what console a game is better on was almost completely random. The technical superiority of the PS3 certainly didn't make it a more successful console.
The 720p 1080p thing might change some peoples minds on what to purchase but I doubt very many and once you own a console you don't generally have access to even see the other version of the game.
While the PS4 is more powerful I just don't see it mattering much to the average consumer because the fact is Ryse looks as good as anything out there right now and it's impressive.
I think the 100 dollar higher price point of the Xboxone will play a bigger role in what people buy.
The PS3 ended strong because of it's lineup of games.
It was a harder console to develop for and it was ridiculously priced at launch.
Gaming history in general has proven higher tech doesn't mean your console is more successful.
If Microsoft doesn't take exclusives more seriously this time around though they just need to hire someone who actually knows what their doing..
