[QUOTE="uRan_Ehr"][QUOTE="NaveedLife"]

It feels nothing like WoW. It is the best ISO ARPG combat I have ever played.

NaveedLife

If you say so. Tastes differ you know. I have played Diablo 1 and tons of Diablo 2 and also have played WoW for some years and to me it feels like the tried to cater the same audience as WoW. For example as a WD using a Bear build the whole CD management feels just like WoW raiding.

Honestly I have only played a tiny bit of WoW (seen more than played), but I have played the crap out of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 (my most played game ever) and it feels like Diablo, but with more complexity and action. WoW feels slow, clunky, and less actiony. Diablo has always been about the fast paced combat, which remains intact and better than ever. Sorry you don't like it.

Well I never said I didn't like it. It is Diablo through and through but maybe I am a bit too much on nostalgia and just wished they had released Diablo 2 LoD with updated graphics. It sure has a lot of potential but I guess we will see in maybe 6 months if it can copy the longlasting success Diablo 2 had.

I don't always play Diablo 3, but when I do, I can't login.

Srsly, Blizzard should get their **** together. European servers are broken like hell. A lot of hacked accounts, second evening in a row you can't login. I am srsly considering a refund. The game is not as good as hyped and there are many other good games. But please dear God, why are there only problems with the European server?

My lack of interest in upcoming PS3 games disturbs me ... only interested in The Last of Us. Am I missing some gems?

[QUOTE="uRan_Ehr"]How is everyone of you?MethodManFTW
uRan! What's up man? How you doing? Life is relatively good here, playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid lately. :D

Was occupied with Skyrim, college and Dwarf Fortress. Now I am kinda back mainly because of Diablo 3 :D Oh and my launch PS3 YLoD on me. Had to take it apart because my Skyrim disc was stuck in the drive.

I am just playing through my collection of old classic CRPG's (think Baldur's Gate and so on) and the gameplay and whole world are completely different to modern games. While some call Dragon Age: Origins a spiritual successor to all those DnD games by BioWare and others its storytelling is horrible. Right from the get-go you know your enemy, you know what you have to do and ultimately you know how it all will end. It is sad that Planescape: Torment is still (for me) the best storytelling in any genre and especially a RPG to this day but what saddens me way more is the fact that not a single game came even close to PS:T. Sure there is definitely some part of nostalgia in this but I just can't imagine that "kids" who grow up with CoD or the modern Fallout installments or even the two newer Elders Scrolls games will think of them as true genre gems in some ten years or so. Not to sound to much like a hipster but great stories/characters/gameplay can be found in indie games nowadays. On a sidenote, anyone who misses classic games should try out Dwarf Fortress. It's free, it has a steep learning curve, it is overly complicated, you will lose - a lot, and it has a very strange kind of humor. Much of what I miss in games :P

Back in 1996 when I was 6 years old Diablo 1 was my first gaming experience ever. The dad of two of my best and longest friends brought it with him from a US trip and even though it was in English and we didn't understood anything we figured it out and played through the game. Later on Diablo 2 was the first game I got to play on my own PC and while I never played it much over the Battle.Net (I dedicated that time to WarCraft 3) it is still one of my all time favourites. So for me personally there is no reason to not get hyped for Diablo 3. Played the open beta and even though I am still a bit sceptical about the diversity in character development I will definitely get the game and yes, just because it is Diablo 3 and made by Blizzard. They never did let me down completely :P

Thanks for the suggestions. Risen 2 is definitely on my list, but I will wait for some patches to get released. On a sidenote I am a little embarassed, that the DLC for Risen 2 already ships with the game and is perfectly accessible by console. What you download when you buy the DLC is just the voice-over for the characters. I guess I just stick with the Witcher 2 then.
