So the PS4 was the most powerful console then it was the pro, now come November it’ll be the 1X... no shit.

I’m going to make a bold prediction so stay with me... when the next console is launched be it from Sony or MS, it’ll be the most powerful console ever... crazy I know.

Blame social media. I don’t think MS approach is bad but the vocal minority will make it seem like it is to fuel their pathetic agendas.

I think the biggest factor is Sony has an entertainment/artistic background with their music and movie branches. Taking risks and pushing the medium forward is in the company DNA.

MS is one of the most profitable companies in the world and that is built on iteration of their core products that are guaranteed money makers like windows. This is reflected in their approach to gaming where they have their core money makers that are iterative. And any new ip that don’t do well enough are very quickly dropped... see sunset overdrive, Ryse, Quantum Break etc.

Not sure if its a 10/10 game but I'd give it 9.5/10... I loved the game and have finished it multiple times.

I owned both 360 and PS3 and always loved showing my 360 only friends stuff like MGS4 and GoW3 so hey could see what they were missing out on.

Had 1X pre-ordered but after considering what I will be playing on it given I currently have a 1S I ended up getting a Pro so I can play all the Sony exclusives while still getting the Xbox ones... just not in 4K or whatever they turn out to be.

After playing Horizon and Lost Legacy I don't think I'll be too upset the Pro is not the most powerful console as the games look gorgeous.

Congrats to him. Big step up in a company like MS. Hopefully it'll lead to bigger and better things for Xbox.

Picking it'll still take a while to see any major changes from this as games and studios don't just come out over night.

i agree that tech changes quickly but the issue with 5 year gens is that games take a long time to make. Unless you want a sequel factory style setup where all you get is a slightly different game to the previous one every year, longer gens mean tech gets utilised better and we end up with games like TLoU.

Great idea and hopefully it gets widely utilised.

I'd assume this will become pretty common in the next gen of consoles.
