Made this decision a few weeks back and cancelled my 1X SE and picked up a Pro... Why? Games and needs.

I have a 1S so can still play all the Xbox exclusives (I’m a massive Gears fan) but if I was in the market for a new Xbox then I’d get a 1X.

Looked at the PS games past and future and it made picking up a Pro a no brainer. Horizon alone has made it worth it so far.

If all that makes a system for you is being able to brag about having the better specs then 1X is definitely the system for you at this point in time. Give me good games on whatever system can play them.

Unless a game is running in a way that makes it less fun, having a few more bells and whistles doesn’t bother me. If it did I wouldn’t have been a console gamer for the last 30+ years.

Yep cancelled mine a few weeks back and picked up a Pro instead. Still have my 1S for Gears etc. but pro is now my main.

Reason being, I love pretty graphics but games are more important and PS is bringing a heap that interest me on top of the multiplats.

Will re-evaluate next year.

If you're into actual motorsport then you will appreciate the real world locations that these racing sims provide so not sure how or why a fan would want that to change. Obviously the addition of more real world tracks is always welcome and some of the fantasy tracks are awesome too. A good mix of both types is the way to go.

I think Forza's biggest issue is frequency leading to fatigue. I know some love to poke fun at PD for taking so long to bring out another GT game but I like the bigger gap between releases as it makes each release feel like an event.

Every year you know you will get a new Forza, be it MS or Horizon, and you know what to expect from each.

@hrt_rulz01: yeah and if it doesn’t work out I’ll just pick up PC2 or Forza 7. Right now GTS interests me more due to the risk they are taking by going a different direction.

I’m a long term fan of both Forza and GT so want both to succeed but just feel F7 is playing it way too safe.

Played the Forza 7 demo and it was a great Forza game that felt exactly like a Forza game but with improvements to weather etc. The thing I don't like about Forza at the moment is all the extra fluff they have added over the past few iterations such as mods and loot boxes. I buy sim (console simcade for those that will no doubt chime in about what makes a sim) racers to race cars in a realistic manner. This is why I loved Dirt Rally over all the previous Dirt games with all their stupid events. I just want to race rally cars on a rally stage...

Anyway so for the first time I have not picked up a Forza game day 1 since Forza 2 on 360 because I feel its lost the pureness of racing that made the series great. Yes I know at its core it is still a great racer, I just don't want to be bombarded by all the fluff.

So instead I have preordered GT Sport Deluxe Edition via PSN. I don't currently think it'll definitely be a better rated game than Forza 7 as content wise it is lacking, but I do feel it is pushing more towards the type of racing I want. Pure motorsport and a celebration of cars plus not just a cut and paste of the last game with added fluff.

Was definitely designed for the hardcore gamers but also as a way to make up for what the original X1 was at launch.

So while there will be a heap that pick one up because it will be the new hotness, there will be many that are hardcore Xbox fans that want to rally behind the brand and be able to say they now have the best console.

In the end we all know what will come after its release... console wars and then another new more powerful console etc.

I'll have my consoles be exactly that thanks. If Xbox (or Playstation for that matter) becomes a pre-made PC then I'll be out as I'm not paying for a heap of stuff I have no interest in using. Give me a box that plays games with no fuss. Plug and play etc.

For me October brings:

Cuphead (I know its Sept but I'll count it)

Forza 7

GT Sport

and I'll also count the SNES Mini too.

Possibilities are South Park & Wolfenstein 2

Wish I had a Switch for Mario :(

@Enragedhydra: I agree with what you’re saying as I pretty much said I have played games on console that I knew ran better on pc, just didn’t change the fact that I enjoyed the game.

A good game is a good game regardless of hardware and having great hardware doesn’t guarantee a good game... hence why having a powerful new console is kinda pointless without games that make the most of it.
