This is a broad one I know.....Final fantasy cutscenes. They have to be one of the coolest things that ever came to gaming. My favourite cool one was in FFX where Anima (aeon) appears and mullers aload of monsters.

Yes please! Man I love road rash, suprising how much pleasure you can get outta smackin' someone upside the head with a 2x4. Could you imagine that online, it would be so much fun.

I've got Sims2 with all expansions but in my mind its too much. There were so many aspects to the game I couldn't concentrate on all of them and ended up just getting bored. From looking at this one it seems like there is more unity between all the different stuff, so anything u play with can create a response on a much broader scale.

I know they were going on about character traits being amazing now but i'm struggling to imagine the sims reacting much differently to how they did in the last game.

My first post did say that I wasn't suggesting that this is a new concept and am aware of the numerous games that have been around in the past(I may not of made that so clear).

The point I was trying to convey was about a possible boom in unexpected crossovers. MKvsDC was a shock to alot of people as not many people believed that it could work. After more recent footage and interviews about the game people seemed to have changed thier perceptions and there is now alot of positive response.

The beat-em-up market comes across as something which is going abit downhill, they don't seem to be as popular as they use to be. I don't know if this is due to a different generation of gamers or people in general now just expect something much more (that possibly beat em ups just can't deliver).

If this is the current situation and if possibly other game developers see this as a fairly easy way to revitalise an old/dieing series, could we end up with some of the craziest/unexpected crossover games so far?

Guild Wars had a similar concept. It had Alliance Battles, which allowed 2 sides to have big 12vs12 matches for control of land in pvp therefore allowing the pve players to access certain traders etc. They also had a blessing of the gods system, which for a long time was again pvp 8vs8 matches fighting to win in what was called the Hall of Heroes. This would then allow access to an underworld type realm but only in certain servers.

Alot of that stuff kept getting altered over time. that would still become quite repetitve after a while though. Game developers seem more keen on providing players with new lands/characters through the process of expansion packs rather than developing the current land (although they do love special events).

My example was just a joke but I do feel that after MKvsDC (Midway is clearly gonna get tonnes of money for it) will this spark other companies into this route of mixing fanbases, whatever the combination, to give them a spike in profits?

With MKvsDC just over one month away from release (and LOADS of hype) and SC4 actually being quite popular at the moment is this the start of something even bigger? I know things like MvsC and all those types of games have been about for awhile now but are we just about to see alot of games get a "revamp" with crossovers from other popular genres?

Could we ever see something as crazy as TekenvsYu-Gi-OH???

I pre-ordered a copy of Warhammer Online from EA with the promotion of having access to the Beta testing. I did this order way before the event. I emailed EA to confirm that they were going to send me the beta code in time for the begining of the event, which they emailed back effectivley saying yes.

The event starts 7th, no beta key email, so I email EA to cancel my preorder. I recieve my beta key today 2 days after the event launched, still with the game on pre-order. So i've sent another email to try and cancel it again.

Maybe I'm just nitt-picking but if i'm going through them to get a promotional beta key then I wouldn't mind actually having it for the event.

P.S. EA Link or whatever its called now is shocking. Mine doesn't even work properly anymore and won't allow me to patch things properly, manual patching ftw.

Total NBA 97(ps1) is laughable, which would be the only reason i would pull that outta the cuboard. Illusion of Time(snes) probably isn't the sort of game I would cry over if i lost it.
