Just as the Guy said, SMG is the most unique. I think Five of the highest rated games this year were FPS. SMG stood out and changed a lot of things for its genre.
SMG changed apsolutely nothing for platformers. Do you think every single platformer that comes out now is going to have you running around galaxies? The answer is no for the slow minded people. SMG's gimick is a one time deal.
Did I say all other games would be the same? No. Has there ever been a platformer like SMG? No. Is that a change for the genre? Yes.
This is the one award I have the biggest problem with. Mass Effect had a mediocre at best in comparison to the masterpieces that were in Halo 3, BioShock and Mario Galaxy.nikolajz1

I stopped reading when you said SMG should have multiplayer. If that's the only flaw you could find (It does have multiplayer anyway though ;)) then it must be the best game ever.sexy_chimp

taking game rankings list is not fair for an arguement, ok what about a person like me who hates platfroming then to me mario serious sucks, and what about people who hate link then oot sucks to them, so taking the list from gamerankings holds no relavence to this arguement
