Excellent show as always Cam, but I would like to add another note:

The point you brought about authority is an excellent one, and one that can somehow summarize the whole problem. You see all the points that you brought up add up to one thing, and that is we mostly tend to place our boundaries according to others, or in other words push them as far as we can until we reach others’, and when there is none, or none that can be easily perceptible, we push as far as we can.

Let me make an example: if we consider ourselves as dots, and our boundaries as a circle around us that we can push and make bigger, we normally do that pushing until we reach the boundary of another. This boundary could be someone else’s or an authority of some sort.

Then, it becomes a war of attrition. Either we can push aside the other boundary and do as we please, or not, and we have to abide by the other’s rules. The power to push our boundary comes from many things, power (physical, political, etc.), wealth, relations, etc.

And there is a fun point here. You see, the closer we physically are (or think that we are) from someone, the closer our dots are, and consequently our boundaries and our behavior are more limited. The farther away we are, physically or mentally, we see ourselves with more freedom to do as we please. I think this may be at least partially responsible for aversion some have towards foreign countries.

Internet has done something revolutionary here, and that is essentially removing the other dots (whether it be real people or the authority) and their circular boundaries. So many people would simply push their boundaries to the limit of their imagination.

The solution I think is to educate people to create and respect their own boundaries. Many times this normally comes with age, but many other times, it actually needs to be taught, so that people’s behavior towards each other not be as related to their distance as it is now.

Thanks to those who actually put the time to read this. ;-)

@xolivierx Yeah it looks like the new site was created with mostly (or just?) tablets in mind.

Thank you Gamespot. After more than 5 years of being here and enjoying your site I am officially thinking about leaving. The site is not compatible with older hardware and software, making it unusable on my older laptop and university PCs. And even when using my high end PC, none of the videos load and you have removed the option to download. brilliant. And here I thought the videoplayer at IGN was unfathomably stupid. I don't know what to think of this.

Actually the most impressive show I've seen of TGS thus far and so little praise! And it comes pre-installed with the PS4, if it could load another game on itself and act as a platform or a virtual reality layer on top of the existing game, it would totally change the experience! think of all the opportunities that a creative game developer can have with this, especially if combined with the Oculus Rift and/or other virtual reality tools, world creation tools and so on.

Combining motion/Gyro and camera sensors, vibration controllers, the touch pad and the companion app. Genius. Well done guys.

Give it some love people!

Danny, of all the talk shows on this site, I find yours to be the most informative and well thought-out, and truly deserving as a representative of an educated and grown up community of gamers. Every gaming site need the news part, the fun part and the "flame bait" part, but what I believe separates it most from others is how it acknowledges its older/better informed members and how it teaches the younger/less informed members of the ins and outs of gaming and its industries through constructive and critical thinking. That is the only way I believe the gaming culture and its image can be improved, and that is what I think you have been doing in many of your shows.

I tip my hat to you sir, keep up the good work.
