I'm still enjoying the dialogue between characters (although it seems like they did a better job with this in KOTOR) and the lore. I honestly take the time to read or listen to every bit of dialogue or Codex update that comes my way. Heck, I even make it a point to read the description of every single planet in every system that I visit. I'd say the GameSpot score for this game is pretty much dead on. Let's hope the sequel addresses all the issues.

If characters and dialogue are what you're loving, you need to start Dragon Age as soon as you're done with ME. Hands down some of the best characters and dialogue ever produced in a RPG.
You aren't going to find a unique hack n slash experience on the PC, just a bunch of console ports whose quality is very hit or miss. Those games were designed with a controller in mind and makes it difficult to successfully adapt to a keyboard and mouse setup since not everyone has a pc gamepad.
The PC is the domain of the action RPG, and if you want something slightly different than DMC or God of War everyone here has offered some good suggestions.
"A lot of people told us they wanted to play the game with friends over the PSP, and that's what we aimed for. We wanted to bring the game out as soon as possible and focus more on multiplayer and co-operative play, so that's why we chose the PSP as a platform. The PSP has both ad-hoc mode and wireless play so it was a perfect choice."

And yes, I was as annoyed as the next non-psp owner when I saw this.
