That's an excellent day 1 turn around, even if we assumed that the budget for MGSV was $80 million.

And as it turns out, it's not. A Forbes article misquoted the original Nikkei article and the rest of the internet just ran with this false info. That $80 million dollar figure includes all of Kojima Productions operating costs from 2009 to early 2015. This includes development and marketing on Peace Walker, remasters and re-releases, Snake Eater 3d, Ground Zeroes, pre-production on MGR, Silent Hills, development of the Fox Engine, etc. etc.

So it would seem that Kojima is a far more efficient developer than he's given credit for, but the fact of the matter is that Konami just doesn't want to deal with AAA gaming.

Also just played what I found to be the most enjoyable mission yet. And it's one of the rehashes, mission 49. Subsistence mode is surprisingly fun. It forced me to play outside of my comfort zone using tactics and weapons I never touched. Really challenging too. I know people would have been crying for days, but I think the game would have been better off if they just said screw all development and load outs and just made the game on site procurement for everything.

To be fair, if you value competent gameplay in your games, there are many titles greater than TW3 this year.

As for the topic, I'm sure Mario Maker is excellent. I just don't see it beating out MGSV or Bloodborne for my tastes.

Peter Brown is reviewing the game and after his two day preview he was already calling it game of the year. He said his only worry is that he will spend too much time playing game.

The other guy he was talking to, who also got to play the game for two days, said that MGSV was all he could think about playing and went on to say he lost enthusiasm for pushing on in TW3 after playing MGSV.

I think it's safe to say that MGSV will get 10/10 here as well as many other places. TW3 won't be having any effect on that.

Also. Bloodborne is amazing. My favorite game of the year. I don't play Mobas or MMOs and I doubt I ever will. Just because I'm calling you out on your bullshit doesn't mean I'm a hermit. I enjoy console gaming very, very much.
