Fearing the bombs you build your own vault in suburban Michigan. 20 years later you emerge into the ruins of what was once America's greatest manufacturing city. You fight the savage beasts and raiders that inhabit the once mighty automotive factories. Search endless rows of abandoned suburban housing for loot and trinkets. Ingest the cornucopia of drugs that litter the apocalyptic city's streets.
But at the end it is all a big twist: The bombs never hit Detroit; the war never even happened. It is just regular old Detroit after 20 years of you living in your own homemade vault. Surprise! [Credits Roll].
I pray to god that From Software doesn't implement a scaled leveling system like Skyrim. I believe this to be a cancerous disease that has infected many modern RPGs in a pathetic attempt to make the game more "accessible." When all enemies level up along side the player it destroys any feeling of progression. There is nothing more rewarding than getting your ass handed to you by strong enemies, and then returning to that area after you have become stronger and crushing them beneath your boots. This to me is the essence of RPGs.
Naming EA the worst company in America is an obvious exaggeration. And this is exactly where the problem lies. The Consumerist is doing more harm than good because EA can just marginalize and downplay this dubious title by saying oil companies and big banks are much worse than we are, so therefore this internet poll means nothing and is not representative of how we run out business. In a sense they are right, but in another sense it certainly says something about the disgust consumers have with this company. This poll would be much more effective if the consumerist ran a poll naming the worst video game company, or even the worst entertainment corporation. This would make it much more difficult for EA to discredit the poll by simple pointing out how much worse big oil is in comparison to themselves.
Excellent review Kevin. This game is a massive disappointment and fully deserves this mediocre score. Even if the servers worked perfectly the plot size compete ruins the experience for me.
