@bloodbornelore:we were talking about Grounded. but anyway... different games.. different developers. the same people that work on Grounded aren't the same people that work on Grounded. Do you really think this? Wow. It has hurt Microsoft not to have released Halo Infinite on-time.. tons of criticism and now everyone doubting their Halo game. Think about that for a minute. They might own 343.. but if a game's not done it's not done. Think about that before you start declaring conspiracies. It's the same for Obsidian, Ninja Theory, Playground Games, etc..

Btw, all of 343 isn't contracted out. They brought on contractors to help with development which is what many game studios do. You read that wrong. I know all this, as I actually worked at a game development studio and understand the process. Have you?

@bloodbornelore: it's actually still in preview. it's not the retail game. Also.. it's survival "lite" if anything.. no one who wants to play survival games should think of it that way. how hardcore it gets with that is all up to Obsidian.. not Microsoft.

@bloodbornelore: Grounded is still in active development. It hasn't been forgotten. Obsidian just released a patched on July 28th. Since Microsoft has bought studios, they have developed a reputation for leaving the studios alone. On that note, Grounded isn't a GaaS, nor is Psychonauts 2, among others. If you want to talk about GaaS games.. look at the Assassin's Creed franchise. That's all those games are about.

@Barighm: wow. you really are making more out of this then you should. it's not that co-op is not going to be released ever.. it's going to be released 3 months later, along with Forge. It's all still coming

Also, my point was that many games have issues after launch, and many other games take that "fix it later" approach.. are you criticizing all them as well? You should.

My point is that there's a pandemic going on, and while this is happening they cannot function at the same pace. Believe me, Microsoft is probably ticked about this, as Halo is one of their major games. They didn't want the original game to be delayed and they don't want this to be delayed either. You really gotta see it from their point of view, and just not what you want to believe.

@Barighm: nope. my point... is that 343 and Microsoft stuck with the MCC and fixed everything that was wrong, and then went further and updated all the games for the current generation.. which they did not have to do.

Is the MCC perfect.. of course not.. but the original games weren't perfect either.

yes several games have released during the pandemic and shipped with minimal delays. each studio is affected differently because they are still all unique. So yes.. it's still an excuse.. and it's not an excuse in that way as it is. It's not something to fall back on because it's the current way of life. They all have had to adapt, and 343 is especially under the microscope right now due to all these people online who have nothing better to do then complain who have no idea what goes into making a game, or how difficult it is. Again, the pandemic has affected everyone differently. For those games that shipped on-time, maybe no one at that studio got sick.. you don't and no one.. knows. that's why either sony or microsoft.. these studios all deserve a little latitude here. For example.. a sony gamer that loves Horizon could be steamed because it was delayed and say all this bad stuff.. but that also wouldn't be justified right now.

None of this has to do with covering up flaws with fresh paint, or making excuses. that whole thinking is very naive.

@skyhighgam3r: ok your choice but just trying to help. your wife could do that too.. everyone is having issues now. the only thing 343 is doing is ensuring everything is of high quality and not rushing it out the door. they'd be criticized hard for that too.. that's obvious. so many games have been delayed at this point.. it should be expected.

to me this honestly looks more impressive, and creative then anything Sony and Microsoft have put out. This looks amazing.. and not just because of UE5. Microsoft should buy this studio ASAP! mad talent!

@skyhighgam3r: that's ok.. but if you're a part of game pass ultimate, you don't have to buy it at all either way. I said this in another post.. what you could possibly do.. is play through the campaign at a lower difficulty on your own.. and when the co-op play comes after season 1.. hit it up with your friends on the higher difficulty. that way you could still enjoy the game. just an idea.

@bloodbornelore: what they promised was multiple games over generations which means that it will be much like the Master Chief Collection.. where there is a front end from which you get to your game. Across these generations, Halo will continue to use the Slipspace engine. That's what they said. Halo is important to Microsoft. It's not going anywhere. Campaign should be the same length as prior Halo games. Microsoft isn't going to stop financing Halo. Don't believe me? Look at the Master Chief Collection.. with the rocky launch it had..development has continued since it launched and it's great now. Halo Infinite will be around for 4-6 years and then we'll get another Halo game. Everyone knows this.

@sladakrobot: it'll be released 3 months after the launch of the game. it's still coming. this is a reflection more on the current status of things then 343 being bad. all this hate isn't needed. How many game delays have there been so far? on both xbox and playstation at this point? countless.
