@bloodbornelore: no reason to get it? how about everything playing better then on the One X.. that's enough. Also.. you can again split hairs all you want.. but if it's new to the platform.. it actually is new to the platform. I knew all this of course. I was playing Flight Sim and Gears Tactics long before they released. In fact I stopped Gears Tactics because I wanted to play it on console. I had the choice. It never changed my goal of getting the Series X at all.. and I imagine that's the same for everyone who got a Series X and they're still selling out. Also.. you didn't answer.. because you said there were "no games at launch." Only later did you say "new exclusive." You're revising what you said.

It really doesn't matter though. It hurt Microsoft some, but not enough to stop sales. It sold out at launch and it's still sold out and yes I know Sony is sold out too and has sold more. It's what I said in another post.. Microsoft now is making all the right moves. Sony released their games on-time, but Microsoft still released the majority of the launch games in the 2nd half of 2021. That's a fine compromise in the wake of a pandemic. I think anyone can agree to that. Now? Microsoft is like a small snow ball rolling down the hill.. and is only gaining momentum. Right now really doesn't matter because There's going to be huge games coming that are being worked on as I type this.

Oh I forgot to mention too.. I'm pretty fast with that d-pad. With the Dualsense.. you still have to learn how to do that and get acclimated which takes time.. so that's really not a reason.. you might be impressed and it's nice to have the option, but just like the speaker and microphone.. its superfluous. No serious gamer is using those for anything. I've confirmed that with the Playstation friends I have.. that I game with.. on the Playstation 5. Everyone has headsets.

@bloodbornelore: well.. I'm not going to be bitter because you're talking about games that were or weren't released during the pandemic. what you have to ask yourself.. is how many xbox games would have released on-time.. that have released by now... if this pandemic hadn't have happened. I keep going back to this because it's still an issue. Microsoft released games they have. Are you telling me Sony wouldn't do the same? Of course they would. You also never answered that. If Sony had an operating system... they would be doing the exact same thing Microsoft is doing.. but instead you would call it "brilliant! way to go Sony!" Microsoft is ahead of the curve with this. How do I know this? Because now Sony is releasing their games on PC as well.. they saw what Microsoft was doing and realized they can make more money as well. By your logic, if Microsoft waited with Gears tactics then it would be ok to call it "exclusive." Microsoft's launch for the Series X was already in shambles with Infinite.. then the pandemic hit.. and everything got delayed. I'm sorry.. make it seem as bad as you want.. but that's the truth. What I've been trying to get through to you is that Microsoft is working to get everything done, and they're honest about it. Why? they need to release these games, and release them on-time. It hurt their image, and they know it when the Series X launched, and when Infinite failed to launch.. that's where you're splitting hairs and holding onto the past. It doesn't mean there's ill will or some conspiracy or anything nefarious. They've been recuperating ever since and once Infinite launches, they'll be back to being in good shape.

Now tell me.. are you saying that if perhaps the next Elder Scrolls somehow launches on PC first.. is it not still Microsoft exclusive? Last gen or current gen.. it's still exclusive and still a game that launched. You said there were no games that launched.

@bloodbornelore: typing? I can type on the console just as fast with the xbox controller.. that's not a feature of the dualsense itself.. but how accustomed you are to the dualsense. nothingmore.

you.. like so many other sony fans.. don't understand the idea of "microsoft exclusive." Microsoft has gone beyond just publishing games for the xbox alone because there's more money to be made by publishing on more then one system. In fact.. it's such a good idea.. that Sony is doing it now with putting games on Steam. Microsoft owns windows.. you do know that, right? So any game on the microsoft store that sells, or even on steam.. is still money made for Microsoft. Also.. it's not like these games can just be downloaded and played on a console.. they have to be ported over. It's still exclusive to Microsoft, xbox, and PC.. so yeah... Microsoft still launched with games. You said the Series X didn't.. but it did. Sony fans, like you, like to try and make this into some point but it's not. Was it the launch Microsoft wanted? Of course not.. but it was fine in the end.

You know with all these studios that Microsoft bought, you know these games like the next Elder Scrolls, Starfield, etc.. are going to be on PC as well. Are they going to be on Playstation? No. Are you still saying Xbox has no games? Really? hilarious. Microsoft in 2022 and beyond is set to have more games then Playstation year over year. That's just simple math. They have more studios. The comeback you mentioned? That's now.. this is only the beginning. Split hairs all you want. All morning, that's all you've been doing.

Tell me ... if Sony had their own operation system and released the next Bloodborne on it.. which they would have every right to do.. would you say it's not their exclusive?

@bloodbornelore: you totally glossed over flight sim instead of answering. it's because you don't have an answer. maybe sony fines studios if games are released late.. maybe mattrick does the same.. maybe Spencer is too relaxed with them and it leads to delays... it all goes back to my point that we don't know what the real reasons are. The xbox controller isn't old. it's a perfect design that hasn't needed many changes. the fact that Sony changed the Sixaxis completely tells you how bad it was.. and what design did they go with? One that's close to the Xbox's controller. Have you used an Elite Controller? Probably not. The fit/finish and just the feel is on a whole different level. Let's see where the Dualsense is next year and how many games are actually using it. I mean that.. because I could be wrong but I don't think it's going to take off at all. When Miles Morales and Demon's Souls.. like you said.. two launch games.. can only have limited support of this feature? On the launch of the PS5.. that's telling to me.

one area where we agree is with the Kinect.. namely the Kinect 2 that the Xbox One shipped with. It was awesome tech.. ahead of it's time if anything. I wish they would have kept it.. along with that PIP the xbox one had. I LOVED the idea of watching netflix or something while playing a game. Imagine if they kept developing it, how good it would be on the Series X.. and now PS5 has a limited PIP.. just hilarious.

you also glossed over the fact that Gears Tactics WAS a launch game.. first party.. got good reviews.. look it up and released on time. Despite what you're saying.. there WERE games at launch.

You can also add CrossfireX.. that was supposed to be a launch game as well. Again.. must be Microsoft's fault.

@bloodbornelore: well... for Infinite.. people were asking for gameplay so I guess they released what they had. I read online that it wasn't even the most recent build at that point, but the one they had ready to show.. think about that for a moment. it wasn't right.. but it was what it was.. but my point was that it was unfinished. 343 should have polished it up more.. that's true.

I really didn't want to have to list them, but apparently you don't know. Series X had: Gears Tactics, Bright Memory, and timed exclusives like: Dirt 5, The Falconeer, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. They also optimized games like Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, Master Chief Collection, and Ori.. all for the Series X. I know that last gen games really don't count.. but I mention them because it's more then Sony did at the launch of the PS5 and a nice service to gamers in general. But there were games. Gears Tactics in particular. Even if that's not your cup of tea.. it was a launch game with 4K., HDR, 60 fps.. all the bells and whistles. So it's not like there was nothing for first party. Also Hivebusters dropped in the launch window as well.. which was great. Later Call of the Sea came which was a timed exclusive along with others. There were games. To say there were none is the biggest lie around. Could they have had more? Maybe.. But Forza 8 is going to be a massive change, and Horizon 5, as we now know, was still in development. Let's see if that's delayed. It won't be. Not all of Microsoft's studios are having issues. It's not that Microsoft was unprepared.. it's that the games weren't ready for launch. How about Scorn? Where's that? Naturally by your logic, that's Microsoft's fault as well. That was supposed to be a launch game. You're really not looking at the whole picture with this, or with Halo Infinite. There's alot that goes into game development. I say give them time. Let the games launch when they're ready. We're all in game overload anyway.

Halo has always been about choice. For this Halo game.. there's just a 3 month delay. It's still coming. Things happen and the pandemic is a valid excuse because people are actually still working from home. You can't assume because one studio can release on time that all studios can. You don't know what's going on to say something like "there's no excuse."

Also, I'm not focusing on the 360 days. I only brought that up to compare the controllers.. how about you understand what I'm saying.

Yeah the naming convention isn't the best, but I don't care about that. Mattrick did more to harm the Xbox brand then he did good. It was him that put the Kinect focus and mobile type gaming in focus. But if you really study that.. you'll see that everyone was trying out camera stuff.. Sony just dropped it before it became damaging. It is what it is. It was him that wanted to focus on entertainment and not games. So I'm not wrong.

It might be possible that Infinite ships in a rougher state then 343 wants. It's possible. I mean.. maybe they're having some sort of issue with this new Slipstream engine. They DID create a whole new engine for the game. That's probably what they were doing all this time. I personally wish they would have just used UE5 or heck 4 for that matter.. it still would have looked great. If it does ship rougher.. i still won't be upset. They'll patch it and get it right. That's already the trend for both Playstation and Xbox games left and right nowadays.

Also, if Microsoft does so many things wrong.. how do you explain Flight Simulator? It's very highly rated across the board and a Microsoft exclusive. Go ahead.. I'll wait. My point is what I've already said.. it's not Microsoft. It's down to the individual studio. Flightsim really proves that. Especially since it released on Series X. It performs great and looks phenomenal. It loads faster then it does on my PC with a 980 pro nvme. It's true.. I timed it.

@bloodbornelore: You totally ignored my point with the ship date.. at least 343 said holiday 2021.. Sony can't even give a month for when Horizon or GOW will be launched. So you never even responded to that because I'm right. There's no way around it. They haven't said anything.

You also ignored my point about the controller. My point was less about nostalgia, and more that the 360 controller was great and so is every iteration after the 360. Microsoft doesn't need to make any sort of radical change. Sony did because the Sixaxis was horrible.

Play games where you want. 3rd party games basically look identical anyway. You do know that the PS5 and Series consoles are using the same hardware right? With the only difference being the SSDs and the power of the graphics and CPU? I have both for the experiences that both consoles provide.

Microsoft did have games at launch. It's just Infinite was supposed to be the big thing. Sony had two.. and the rest came out later. The remaining games coming out in 2021 are very small games. I'm talking about first party games. Microsoft has been releasing smaller games all throughout 2020. weak argument.

Dualsense for now is not well implemented. Like I said, Xbox has had rumble in the tiriggers since the launch of the Xbox one. It was neat in the Forza games, where you can still experience the sensation. That being said.. it's a gimmick. Until Sony can get more developers to use this feature.. it'll be the same thing.. a gimmick.

Microsoft could figure that out about games.. but there was an idiot in charge who focused on the wrong things. It's taken Spencer this long to get things turned around as a result. If the initial team that was in charge of the 360 had stayed onboard? Sony with the PS3 might have never caught up to the 360. you might forget.. but for 3/4 of that generation, the 360 was outselling the PS3. It was only when Microsoft shifted focus that Sony caught up. So yeah.. Microsoft knows about games.. but corporate idiots can do alot of damage.

Also.. Ratchet wasn't a launch game.. and it was delayed as well. How about an excuse for that? Another Sony game that was delayed. How prepared was Sony again? The pandemic has affected everyone.

Also.. Miles Morales isn't that great. I played it for an hour then uninstalled it. I went back to the original Spider-man remastered. I have platinum on that and going back for the DLC.. that's a much funner game to me.

For Halo Infinite.. I'm talking about the beta you played. All the press are satisfied with how the graphics are with that.. as well as the gameplay. Also.. funny you mention the grappling hook. I read a review where they DID use it. Also.. THAT wasn't finished as well.. it's STILL not in final form. Also.. you do understand that the demo you played was just a small snapshot of the game right? The final game is going to be much more robust with more features.. right?

For example.. I recently played the Diablo 2 Remastered beta that's going on right now and yeah it's Diablo 2. I'm not blown away at all by the graphics and it looks good... and there's a few rough things.. that's why it's BETA. This should be expected with any beta you play.. or any early demo that's shown. You're talking like it's the final game. It's not.. not even close. It's why people who comment negatively just make me laugh. You should be judging Infinite when it's in it's final form.. not when it's in pre-release form.

That demo for Horizon and how pretty it looked? It was a controlled demo only showing certain parts of the game.. and the newer demo they showed where she's swimming underwater? Pretty yes.. but also a very controlled demo. Where Sony gets props is they made that look as gorgeous as they could.. which is what 343 should have done.

None of it really matters though for Horizon or Infinite as neither has even released yet. Either of them. When both games release.. they will be great.. for those audiences that are excited for them. I have full confidence that 343 will deliver

@bloodbornelore: 343 said holiday release. They've been saying that since the initial delay, and they're sticking to that. Horizon doesn't even have a certain month in which it will be released.. nor does GOW.

What I was comparing with Horizon is that Sony hasn't given a firm ship date. I said that.. and they haven't. It could be delayed another 6 months.. probably not.. but we don't know.

You're also comparing two games that were striving for different things. Where Infinite is meant to be a fast paced first person shooter, with 120 fps in multiplayer.. Horizon is more about stealth and slower game play.. so it can get away with prettier graphics.. for the world it has. Also.. all the press were satisfied with how Infinite looked. Everyone is focusing on these graphics and it's all based on a game that at the time wasn't finished as it was. My point remains.. it wasn't the final product. The time for THAT argument is really after the game ships, not 3 months before. All games have issues when they're in beta form, or alpha for that matter. I admit 343 should have had it in a better form before showing it.. but it is what it is. Look at Halo 5.. for as bad as the campaign was.. when it shipped it still looked great. No one at the time or since thought it actually looked bad, and everyone that has played the Multiplayer has loved it. People are STILL playing Halo 5 multiplayer to this day. That's 343. So they have alot to live up to.. and not for all the naysayers.. but for it's audience, and them alone.

Also.. there have been delays all through 2020. Do you think Microsoft wanted to have hardly anything at launch? Of course not. But now their games are releasing.. and at a time when Sony has nothing to show for the rest of 2021. It didn't hurt them all that much to not have alot at launch. Sony just had Miles Morales.. more like an add on, and Demon's Souls... a remake. Nothing new.

Also.. Microsoft didn't need a new controller. Sony did. Sony had to do alot more work to do to make improvements to their controller then Microsoft did. I have had the PS4, PS4 Pro, and now the PS5. The sixaxis controller.. I'm sorry.. but it was bad. Microsoft's was much much more ergonomic and easier to use. There's never been anything wrong with the form factor since all the way back to the 360. Microsoft has always made small improvements. The biggest was when they went from the 360 controller to the Xbox one form factor. That's why they didn't improve it much. What they did do is welcome but personally I don't use it. I have an Elite 2 and that's much better then the Dualsense. I honestly haven't been impressed with the Dualsense.. and I'm just being honest. It's not revolutionary for me. I turned down the rumble in the triggers because 3rd party developers aren't using it properly and it's just getting in the way. I tried it in both Miles Morales, and Demon's Souls and I wasn't impressed. If it can't impress me in those games.. it's failed so far. For me.. if it can't work well in all games, then right now it's just a novelty.

@nilsdoen: no not at all.. the influences are obvious.. just with the enemies.. setting, animation, and graphics all look amazing. it's unique in that way. I've played every Dark Souls game, and Bloodborne but I'm really impressed with this. The studio has huge potential.. that's for sure.

@bloodbornelore: you have nothing to back what you're saying and didn't really respond to what I said. the Pandemic affected everyone differently. It wasn't just Microsoft... and Horizon was supposed to release in 2021 or did you forget that.. andit was delayed. So much for Sony being prepared lol.

Also... MCC, the Forza games, and Gears are all gorgeous. Press has also said this. not just me. Flight Sim is also a gorgeous game.. also touted over and over by the press. There's nothing wrong with how Microsoft games look.

Sure Sony released those games early.. I said they did.. but now they have nothing. How's that for being prepared? Where's the other games? There's none until 2022, and the announced games can't even be confirmed. GOW has no set date, nor does Horizon. Also I never said they were GaaS games. All Microsoft games aren't GaaS games. wow. Also I never said at all that they didn't bother to clean the games up.. I said it was a build of the game.. which 343 themselves said.. and they wanted to show off gameplay at it's current state. 343 can't help it if everyone is going to criticize a game that isn't even finished. Again.. it's probably why other studios don't show off game play before it ships.. too much potential for scrutiny. It's why Blizzard simply started saying "when it's done." 343 and all studios should adopt the same approach.

Also, as for 343. again.. they hired on extra help to try and get Infinite finished.. and yes.. this help was contractors which aren't really known as being reliable. Game development is volatile. Studios can shutdown just like that. I've seen it. So it doesn't surprise me one bit. Tell me are you actually going to play Infinite? If not.. your opinions really doesn't matter because it doesn't affect you. I will be and I trust 343 to get it all out. Have they had trouble developing it.. sure.. there's been alot going on.. some of which undoubtedly wasn't their fault, and maybe some was. We really do not know.. none of us. If you care about Infinite you should be encouraging, and not criticizing. Horizon is a great comparison. It's ship date slipped without a confirmed date for when it will actually launch. All those pretty game play videos don't mean anything until it actually ships.

@bloodbornelore: "They contract out the work instead of hiring permanent staff because they're trying to save a buck"

that was totally what you said.

343 and Obsidian are different teams. you're making it sound like they're all one team. they're not.. they each have their own schedules and priorities.

Also.. 343 said before that initial demo was released that it wasn't final. They could have cleared up those issues before launch. It was just one build of the game that was shown. Alot of people forget this. It's why other studios don't show much if anything before launch. There's nothing but people online that criticize that have ZERO idea of what's going on. Even now. You only know what you read online.. and how accurate do you really think that is? Personally, I think 343 should stop making public announcements.. just focus on getting the game great, which I know it will be.

Also, sure.. Sony released their games early.. and now they have nothing to show until 2022. Microsoft gave their studios time to finish games, and now their launch games are releasing.. still in 2021. It's honestly as simple as that. You should ask yourself too how they did it.. it could be discipline, it could be luck, or it could be crunch.. forcing their studios to get these games out. We don't know. Also.. what's your excuse then for Horizon or God of War? Dude.. everyone is affected by the Pandemic. It's still going on and it's still a factor. Again.. not everything has to be a conspiracy. Try and think from their point of view for a change.
