When Mortal Kombat was a big deal in the early 90's, there was a huge flap about violent video games creating human misery etc. That's where the rating system came from.

If the rating system is followed, kids really shouldn't be playing any game that's inappropriate, unless their parent, such as a parent who teaches their young mentally deficient child how to use an assault rifle, gets involved.

He makes a good point about developing and owning your own franchises. Most of the crappy Star Wars stuff resulted from high royalties...with some left over for the actual game.

BL2 definitely has fewer loot chests, and the drops are fairly weak. I'm level 30 and I've found I think 2 purple weapons. LOTS of white and green crap.
