@FinalFighters: I own FF7on both PS3 and PS4. I can say with absolute certainty that the PS4 version is a HUGE upgrade. Much higher resolution, some spelling errors fixed, built in cheats(while still allowing trophies). The PS4(Steam) version is vastly superior to the PS3 offering. They're different versions of the game.

@iambatman7986: Not entirely true. Some higher end televisions can support the Full image without crushing blacks. However on my tv(Samsung 65HU9000), for example, I get the same option on the television as well. So if I set both to full, it crushes blacks and there's no way to get it looking good. I can definitely turn either or on without crushing blacks though.

That said, I like my games to be a little more vibrant. It's a video game, I play it to escape real life. I make sure I get my detail in dark areas but I like to have punchy colours as well. Personal preference comes into play here.

For those looking to get a similar image on their ps4 as what X1 produces. Set ps4 rgb range to full, turn darkness(45-50/100) up a bit(full range can crush your blacks. Turning darkness up will level it out a bit), turn contrast(94/100) up bit, then play with your gamma on the tv until you get an image you like. Also, put your Sharpness down to 0(this is pretty standard on almost all tvs). I usually go for a little bit bright, then I can use the in game gamma slider to adjust accordingly. I get a nice vibrant image, with all the detail. Great for games. For movies I prefer a professional calibrated setting.

@FoxbatAlpha: Not at all. The X1 crushes blacks and over saturates colours. This is also common practice in the tv industry. It why every single television on a show room floor is set to vivid mode. It crushes blacks and over saturates colours.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that most of those complaining about crushed blacks all have MUCH nicer TV sets than those who aren't. I would also bet those these people have had their set calibrated in some way.

The vivid mode does actually appear to look a little better on the surface. It's more pleasing to the eye(hence why all show room tvs are set to this preset. It sells tvs if their competitor isn't doing the same thing). However. The softer image of the ps4 is FAR more accurate. You can see more details(particularly in dark areas) and you can see a broader range of colours.

The ps4 image is more accurate. The Xbox 1 image has been tampered with to give the appearance of a better image at the cost of accuracy.

@StormyJoe: sucks to be cows then cause if anything I am in camp Sony. I just value gameplay over all else. To be quite frank this generation has sucked. I play my PS3 more often than my ps4. Though I don't play games much at all anymore because they're really just not fun. It's all glitz and glamour these days. There's nothing just fun to play.

Here's what bothers me about this generation of gaming and the resolution gate. Even the professionals cannot tell the resolution of the game without pausing and pixel counting. What's the point of targeting 1080p above all else if nobody can even see the damn difference.

@1080pOnly: Actually last gen the PS3 had the best looking exclusives. Sony fans just gave up on multiplats because the 360 was the lead section platform and the ports always sucked.

PS3 and ended up with more sales after coming back from a 10 million deficit(maybe it's behind again now. It was so close at the end the lead console bounced back and forth).

Now the ps4 has the better sales and the better looking games as well as being the lead dev platform. This is why sales do matter.

Why doesn't Nintendo just give up on the hardware and go first party for Sony?

Here's what the NX will be. A ridiculous controller nobody wants based on failed concepts from other companies. Reasonably powerful hardware that won't be used because they won't have any third party devs. And an online structure that will make you want to scratch your eyes out of your face.

@Ant_17: DDD takes place right after KH2. It was released on the 3Ds. Sora and Riku take the Mark of Mastery exam to become true Keylade Masters. Sora fails, Riku passes and 12 Xehanorts from different time periods appear. It is explained that 7 "Lights" will be needed to defeat Xehanort. Axel(of org 13) is revealed to be a full person again and capable of summoning a keyblade.

@Blabadon: There's 2 main games and 6 spin offs. In the spin offs only 2 really add to the story. Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance. So you would have to play 4 games to get the whole story.

Topic is doomed to fail. Despite the fact the 90% of the game is based in American cartoons, it will still be labelled "weaboo" since it comes out of Japan.

Birth by Sleep is the best. It promoted use of all abilities. While, even on critical mode, you could just mash X with the occasional block thrown in to win on the other games.
