Nomura: KH 0.2 developed alongside KH3 using same tech, will amount to 1 world in KH

There are plans to include elements that are part of Kingdom Hearts III in 0.2, as well. The game is a short episode whose total volume amounts to that of about one Kingdom Hearts series world.

As for why this game is only on PlayStation 4, rather than also on PlayStation 3, director Tetsuya Nomura says it’s because the collection is supposed to preface Kingdom Hearts III and that it uses Kingdom Hearts III technology—specifically in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 and Kingdom Hearts Chi: Back Cover.

As someone geeky enough to remember most titles in many series and the year they came out in, along with their place in canon, I have absolutely no will to even try to keep up with Kingdom Hearts at this point. Even trying the series seems daunting now with two billion spin offs.

@Blabadon: There's 2 main games and 6 spin offs. In the spin offs only 2 really add to the story. Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance. So you would have to play 4 games to get the whole story.

@Ant_17: DDD takes place right after KH2. It was released on the 3Ds. Sora and Riku take the Mark of Mastery exam to become true Keylade Masters. Sora fails, Riku passes and 12 Xehanorts from different time periods appear. It is explained that 7 "Lights" will be needed to defeat Xehanort. Axel(of org 13) is revealed to be a full person again and capable of summoning a keyblade.

This is getting to be a joke Square. Stop bloody milking the series with remakes, ports, and spinoffs and just finish KH3 already.

Your story line is now so convoluted that trying to follow it is like trying to untangle a badly tangled slinky.

Of course they are taking longer with KH III, because they spend all their time making remakes and spin-offs for this series.

Gonna be 50 years till we reach Kingdom Hearts 9 3/4, maybe by then Disney will have bought Harry Potter and we can have a world where Sora meets Harry and the gang.

lololol so now we wonder why exactly did it take 10 years for this game to come out? Oh its because we weren't actually ever working on this game till a short time ago we were working on the spin offs....and now that we have worked on the game...we decided we'd work on and rerererererelease the spin offs....again, If we hadnt released spin off after spin off that didn't actually help the franchises strength and just put the development team to work on KH3 it would have released 5-6 years ago.
