@AdrianWrz "And Consoles are more durable and last longer. I still got my original SNES/PS1/PS2 from release dates and they still work without a problem. Can you same thing about your PC? that you still use after 15+ years?"
Did you never have a YLOD or RROD on either of the current gen??? If you didn't then you where the lucky one person. As for PC's verses Console comment is pretty invalid as an old PC will still turn on and run just like a old console, the reason is same for both because they are old tech and you no longer wish to use it!!! But if you do they will still both run!!! PC components will always be a superior build quality compared to a console as the console will always come in cheaper, and where do they make that saving is often in the quality of components used!!!
Also within the next 5 years Digital sales will out strip physical, as you pointed out steam have stripped the bones off physical sales of PC games as there really is no advantage to going to a shop when you can get it cheaper and quicker on download. Same has happened to Music & Movies as people like Itunes and Netflix have proven over the past couple of years!!
This really will be the last gen that supports physical disks!!
@externalpower I think a healthy chunk of the difference is actually the Kinect, sadly we are all paying for a peripheral we all don't really want, remember Kinect was priced at over £100 at release !!
