Right, because everyone that plays "violent video games" felt no sympathy for those victims of the shootings.
It hurts how idiotic people can be - violent video games don't desensitize people to real world violence; at most it is possible that gamers begin to realize that the game they are playing isn't real and neither are the characters they are killing.
As for why we play them? Playing a game like Call of Duty or Battlefield has nothing to do with wanting to murder people - its a medium through which people are allowed to be competitive, like tag or football. Its ridiculous for people like this to criticize these things simply because they do not understand them and have no desire to try.
