UCI-LSU is definitely a series to keep an eye on. Irvine has won three straight road regionals now, that team knows how to get it done away from home.
I'm all over A&M-Rice, gonna be there for at least the Sat and Sun games (I'd prefer the Aggies get it done in two if necessary to spare me a rough monday drive back to North Texas ;) ).
And props to ASU, they played well. I do gotta say, though, they got lucky in the sense that Megan (Gibson) finally ran out of gas. That gal had to carry the Aggies since early March (due to the other All America, Amanda Scarborough, going down for the year) and you could tell that she didn't have enough left to carry them through the final series against a team as red hot as ASU.
I'm excited the CWS is getting going. I'm for Rice even though I don't go there, but it's very close to where I live and I go to games all the time.

Parking at Rice blows :|. But Reckling is a nice looking park, long as you don't get a seat behind a pole. Here's hoping my Aggies get the job done tonight to get a shot at revenge for last year :D.

I completely disagree (obviously). As strange as this sounds, Texas had more to prove in the 05 game (we already knew how good VY was by the time the USC game came around) and they manage to take a game from the Wolverines that, for all purposes, they should've lost. The 06 game was marred by some pathetic plays (smooth move Reggie Bush) and a pathetic defensive effort by both teams. People who pimp the 06 game just do so because it was a National Championship, but truth is that game was not as well played as the Rose Bowl a year before it when VY put himself on the map as one of the best college gamers we've seen.
Oh, and A&M's absence from this list is laughable. The Aggies schedule this year pretty much guarantees 6 wins minimum, regardless of what Sherman does.

Wouldn't be Tech if they weren't choking on it at least 3 times in conference play. They show up for A&M and OU and snooze the rest of the time. Maybe if they'd stop making excuses the rest of the time, they'd actually stop blowing it. 0 Big 12 Championships in football says it all.
The top 2 definitely don't deserve their spot (the 2005 Rose Bowl was better than 2006 and the ref choke job to give Ohio State the win certainly isn't top 5 worthy). Moving 3 and 4 up into those spots would be a start.
For me, I love the "Road to OMAHA," then Bowl season (even if i prefer a playoff system), Oklahoma City (softball championship) and then March Madness (hell I think I would take the Frozen Four over the Final Four and I don't even follow college hockey).bjvb15
Baseball playoffs is easily the best system NCAA has, yet they can't manage to fix the rest of their **** :|.
Word around the DFW area has been that Notre Dame was trying to setup a series with someone to play in the new Cowboys stadium (one early guess was Baylor). ND has a tendency to bully schools into playing in other locations, but in this case I think it may have been more premeditated so that they could have something at the biggest/flashiest stadium around.
